The old plastic seat height adjuster gear will need to be removed using a Dremel tool or similar. After the old gear is removed from the shaft the knurled end needs to be ground down using a grinding wheel until the new metal gear fits. Then a hole needs to be drilled using the supplied drill bit and roll pin set into place. For the price it was definitely worth it.

2007 GMC driver’s seat elevation motor shaft gear. As a replacement part, it will not fit on the shaft, and will definitely not fit over the larger course area where the original molded plastic gear came off.

This is not direct fit! Shafts had to be machined down to fit new gear! Tig welded new gear on! Should never have a problem again.

Will not work for 07-13 Tahoes or Silverados… I had to drill the middle of the gear until there was almost nothing left in order to make it fit. If you really want your seat to work spend the extra money and buy the Gruven parts gear set…

While these will work, I have no idea what they are actually for. There is no way they were designed for this application.I used them on a 2011 Sierra. There are no instructions and they do not match the dimensions of the original gears. The gear appears to have the same helix angle but is a bit narrower than oem, so some precise measuring is in order to get them to mount in the correct location and function. In order to make them work, I had to grind the shaft to a smaller diameter so the gear would go on. Also, since they are dimensionally shorter than oem, you must precisely measure the gear placement before drilling and pinning them in place. The way the gear mounts, the thrust side must be a precise distance from the tip of the shaft or it will not fit in the housing. They do not appear to be very high quality but do function and I am guessing will be better then the oem plastic.Even the drill bit that came with them was bent.A fair price for this is probably around $5 at most due to the modifications that must be made to use them.If you think you are just going to slide them on and pin in place, think again.
