I thought this would be much stickier. The adhesive seems fine, but the working non-slip side is no more non-slip than good old inner-tube rubber. No doubt it's an exotic, long-lasting 3M synthetic, and presumably a silicone rubber with tremendous heat resistance (I didn't test that), but I was expecting something more in the "slightly gel-like" category -- like those pads you set on a counter or dashboard and they stick as if glued, but they just peel off without any residue -- because they're inherently sticky and don't use adhesive (on the working side). I will no doubt find uses for this, but it was not inherently sticky at all -- just (as described) non-skid. I suppose there's a spectrum from non-skid to tenaciously sticky, all without using adhesives, but I couldn't tell from the descriptions of this a many other non-skid products on Amazon.

Great for sticking to the bottoms of all sorts of stuff that lives on a tippy boat. Effective, grippy and easy to apply.
