Take your time and you should achieve good results. It does Take a minute to get your iron dialed in. Its better to slowly increase the temperature untill its just right. Too hot and you could melt your coat. I also placed parchment paper between the iron and the tape does aid in adhesion.

Last summer we realized (the hard way) that the waterproof tape on our tent was peeling off (after 25 years, so I can't complain!). Everything else about the tent is great so I bought this to try to fix the leaky bottom. We took it camping and the tent was beautifully dry through 7 nights and 3 campsites, including 3 nights of rain.

This stuff is great. As another reviewer noted, use the wool setting on your iron, apply pressure with the tip of your iron, and move slowly. I put a layer of parchment paper in between the iron and seam seal tape so any little glue squeeze out doesn't get on the iron. Move the iron along in sections, maybe 3-4 inches at a time. If you have a mini roller tool, you can use it to keep rolling and applying pressure on the seam after you remove the iron, so the glue has pressure on it as it's cooling. When the glue is hot, if your seam isn't completely flat (like a felled seam), the tape could bubble up, so it's important to keep pressure on the seam for about ten seconds after the iron is removed. You can also apply pressure with a blunt spoon or something. The seam tape has a tiny bit of stretch so you're able to use this on gentle corners. For sharper corners, just cut the tape and overlap the sections.

I bought this tape to reseal the seams in a old LL Bean rain jacket. I had to take off the existing tape which was falling off, leaving on the tape that was still securely attached to the jacket. I put my iron at about medium and went over the seams with the new tape and it sealed it up quite nicely. I haven't had a chance to test it in driving rain but the seams appear to be secure and the tape attached well. I just wish that I didn't have to buy such a big roll as I only needed about5 feet or so from the roll.
