There are no pedals that work better than these in the slop. The Crankbrothers Eggbeater 3 Pedals are the newest version of their workhorse Eggbeater SL. Like the older SL, the Eggbeater 3 employs investment cast stainless steel for the main parts of the pedals -- the body and wings. These stainless parts are made to exacting tolerances for optimum performance and they'll never rust! In a change from the SL, the spindle is now forged from super-strong chromoly steel, meaning that anyone can use these as there's no weight limit. Eggbeaters are also some of the easiest-to-use clipless pedal systems around. Thanks to the four-sided wing of the Eggbeater, it's literally impossible to not clip in with lightning quickness as soon as the bottom of your shoe hits the pedal. The Eggbeater wing rotates either forward or backward under the pressure of your foot to quickly and smoothly engage the cleat bolted to the sole of your shoe. The brass cleats for the Crankbrothers Eggbeater 3 Pedals are small so they recess flush with the tread on the bottom of your shoes for easy walking. They're also designed for two release angles -- 15degree or 20 degree. The release angle depends on which cleat you bolt to which shoe. Crankbrothers recommends the 15 degree setting if you're new to clipless. Otherwise, the 20 degree configuration will give you greater mobility on the bike without the worry of an accidental release. Needle and cartridge bearings will keep the Eggbeater 3 Pedals spinning smoothly -- a great improvement from the old bushings. And when the time comes for an overhaul, keep in mind that nobody else's pedals are as easy to service as Crankbrothers' pedals are. Shims to protect your shoes are included as well as all the hardware you'll need for installation.

I read some reviews that weren't very positive about the durability of these but I decided to buy them anyway. I race cyclocross and the 4 side entry makes them superior for CX in my opinion, I'm clipped in quicker after the start and after the hurdles. I've also found they clear the mud better. So far no issues with durability but I've only been using them for a few months. Really pleased I went against the negative reviews, I'll be sticking with these from now on regardless of any durability problems, even if they only last a season they are much better for racing.

If I could give these pedals -1 I sincerely would. I’ve now owned two pairs of egg beaters and after the second pairs bearings collapsed after I finally admitted defeat. I’d wanted a change from my Shimano M520’s - a mistake I now regret. My replacement Shimanos have now covered nearly 4000miles with no issues what so ever. Good bye Crank Bros!

Los pedales en sí son excelentes, igual la calidad de Crank Brothers, sin embargo, en la primer imagen descriptiva se muestra el modelo 2016 (o más reciente), Lleva un empaque redondo en la parte inferior.El modelo que me enviaron es el 2015 o anterior, no tiene ese empaque. Se puede corroborar en la página del producto el nuevo tipo de empaques a partir de 2016.

Me gustaron mucho, las 4 opciones para engrapar hacen que sea más rápido. También son muy fáciles de limpiar, lo único malo que tienen es que la pintura dura poco

Veramente eccezionali!!Prima di questi ho sempre usato pedali tipo spd ed appena caricavo un po' di fango non agganciavano piuQuesti invece sono fantastici, con le scarpe piene riescono comunque ad agganciare e sganciare perfettamente, veramente ottimi, ed esteticamente spettacolariPiccola pecca, manca la possibilità di regolare la durezza delle molle di aggancio/sgancio ma non mi sembra ce ne sia bisognoInizialmente le molle sono un po dure ed ho fatto fatica ad agganciarmi, ma dopo 2 /3 uscite lavorano alla perfezionePoi a seconda di come vengono montate le tacchette (incluse) si può scegliere sgancio a 15 oppure 20 gradiIn conclusione, acquisto consigliato!!

I love these - strong, light and easy to engage/disengage.The clips they use are minimal as well.Neither the pedal or the clip get fouled with dirt/gravel/mud/iceCan be rebuilt easily and for low cost with a rebuild kit (by Crank Bro's)Only negative is they don't do well with pedal strikes on rocks (but then what does)Consider the crank brothers Candy or Mallets if your shoe has a more flexible sole, they have more area to catch the ball of your foot.

I use these pedals on my road bike so that I share my shoes with my xc mtb which also use Crankbrother's Mallet style pedals. They are a little heavier than I would have wanted but I presume that since they are really aimed at mountain bikes rather than road bikes they are built to take more abuse than I would deliver in my application.Overall, they are easy to clip in and out and do the job admirably and I am happy with my purchase.
