These laces are tough! They are 1/4" in diameter and have kevlar strands for strength. The ends are professionally plastic tipped, so you will not find any heat shrink tipped ends on these laces!

I went out on a limb and bought these laces when they only had a single 3-star review. I'm rather glad I did. I had already been through two other (well-known) brands looking for replacement laces for a set of hiking boots, and wasn't particularly happy with either. So I figured what can I lose... When I actually received the other brands they ended up being thinner, and seemed less durable than the original laces. These laces, however, are perhaps even more substantial than the original laces, and could actually be better.Time will tell if they the "strong" kevlar reinforcing holds up. I'll try to remember to update the review after more time/miles...Be careful about quantity though. Some of the pictures show two pairs of laces for items for items that actually only include one pair...
