I am 5ft 1 and this dress was not proportioned to fit me. The torso was too long and the length unflattering- mid calf length. The petite size was unavailable of course (why don’t they make more as they sell out so fast?) If you are between sizes you can easily size down too. Disappointing as the style and material is so nice.

Very comfortable and the fabric is light. The elastic and the hips are very forgiving. I am a 42 D chest and took a risk and sized down to an XL, but I think I am going to try for the Large because the arm openings were a little baggy on the XL. If you have a larger chest and hips, I would size down 1. Smaller chest, 2 sizes down.
