I like the pattern on the outside; I like that the half pans it came with are removable so I can put my own in. I also like that it comes with adhesive magnets to secure the pans in the tin. I am slowly building my own palette and this was a very affordable purchase. I highly recommend it.

This is a lovely palette. I like that it also comes with the empty pans. However, you need to know that the pans are non magnetic, so you need to magnetize them. The palette itself is very sturdy and it closes very well. The only thing that this palette might need is a white mixing area. I mainly store my pigments in the palette and use a different mixing area, but I can see how the lack of mixing area might be a turn off to some people. Overall this is a great buy.

Case came dented and lid was misshapen, and not completely flat anymore.

Attaching magnets to these pans is a MUST. Otherwise, they'll slip everywhere and make a huge mess, the rounded corners make everything fit poorly. The lid snaps on well and securely enough to toss in a bag, but tends to bow down or upwards - the thin metal doesn't hold a straight shape, and so if your pans are anything less than dry they'll really stick to the lid when closed. (Any watercolors with honey = go get a crowbar to pry them off the top.)It's also annoying to remove specific pans without resorting to tweezers or something but many people prefer to pull color directly out, so that's not too awful. Still handy, I like to use it to carry spare half pans when on the go so I can swap out colors on my main palette if needed.
