I must admit so do I, super easy to clean and refill. The birds love that they can sit on the perch and dine in comfort. Looks so pretty when the sun hits it, gorgeous red.

This is the best hummingbird feeder we ever had..At first the birds stayed away so my husband painted the bright metal top yellow with a non-toxic paint. Yellow because it was the color we happened to have in the house. And the birds came. The glass mason jar is quite attractive and the feeder is very easy to clean.

I already have two of these feeders with the blue/clear jar. One is 3 seasons old and the other is 2 seasons old. Both of these older feeders are solid and have at least 2-3 seasons (if not more) of life remaining. I just purchased 2 additional feeders but with red ball jar. I got them to replace two feeders (different brand) that are only 1 season old and junk. I don’t even understand why there are negative reviews about this specific feeder!!! They are epic!! Durable, easy to clean, easy to fill, attractive and hold a good amount of nectar (sugar water). We have tones of nesting hummingbirds on our property and maintain a total of 5 feeders. Evenings are definitely entertaining, they are flying around everywhere!! The hummingbirds feed from the mason jars feeders three times as much as the others. I did and do reinforce the perch ring attached to the feeder base with hot glue. With my first older feeder, I noticed the perch ring kinda starts to spin after a few months of use. Still Functioned properly but I knew I wouldn't be satisfied unless I corrected the spin. Hot glue gun in hand - PERFECT and still holding strong to this day. Repeated the process with the second feeder upon purchase and just completed adding a few dabs of hot glue to the base of my 2 new feeders - now ready for years of feeding!!For those complaining about the galvanized finish, thinking it might alter the flavor of the nectar or harm...... Ummmmmm, the interior of the galvanized feeder base has an applied coating, so the galvanized complaint doesn’t make any sense at all!! - again, “it has an applied coating”. Our nesting hummers have several offspring annually - no ill effects. My Favorite Combination Opinion: I use the Birds Choice Red 13" Acrylic Weather Guard with both of my older blue/clear mason jar feeders. In my opinion it's the Perfect Combination!! Hummingbirds like hanging out under the transparent red canopy and I feel that it adds a layer of general weather protection for the feeders and nectar within.Anyway, I obviously can't say enough about this feeder and I've purchased and trashed SEVERAL different styles and brands over the years. Stop buying and rebuying junk! Get this one and IF you don't break the glass during winter storage, it will last for years!! Well, at least mine have AND so have my neighbors!!!

I bought one of these late last summer so it got used for only a short time. I did not experience any of the rusting of the metal tray or the red peeling off as other reviewers have posted. But it is practically new still. Got it out this year a couple of weeks ago. There was no rusting at all over the winter storage. The tray is a bit tricky to attach as some have said. You have to make sure everything is lined up just so and even then be careful when carrying to its hanging spot because it doesn't take much for the liquid to slosh out. Other than that, it looks great and I am pretty sure the birds liked it. Anyway, we'll see this year how it goes again. I plan to purchase another one. I like the fact that it is glass and metal, not plastic, and it is easy to clean with the wide mouth and the two-piece tray (even though that adds to the challenge of assembling the feeder).Additional review: I believe I wrote the original review in summer of 2017. It is August, 2019 now. I currently have 3 of these feeders. This summer one of the feeders has begun to develop rust in the tray. Additionally, I think somehow it is leaking. Perhaps the rust got so bad there is a weak spot I can’t see. IDK. At any rate, I have taken it down and have ordered another to replace it. I read Theatre Popcorn’s review with interest. I also believe if you take care of the feeder it will be just great. The hummers love our feeders and we have quite a few birds this summer. Have never seen any dead ones as one reviewer described. I take care to clean only with vinegar and hot water, not even soap. I also dry them before refilling and assembling. I clean and refill them every 10-14 days, depending on level of activity. Some weeks I’ve had to refill sooner because all the nectar was gone! The other two feeders are fine, no rust or paint peeling.
