It does not provide sufficient structure for corsetry. It IS sufficient for buttons that do not provide structural support.That said, it will work on bodices that have supportive garments underneath or do not require any supportive garments. I would not use this on anything that could put a strain on the trim.

Very nice in black. I'm not planning to use it for buttons, at least not yet. I got it to use it as trim on a multi media project I am making. In my case "multi media" means various textiles and paints. Although come to think of it using buttons along with this trim might work very well on my project as a "false" set of buttons that can be undone and done back up!The material seems quite sturdy and I would not hesitate to use it for a button closure on a garment. The loops seem a little small which is why I suggest checking your button size. Most seamstresses would do that anyway.Recommended.
