This fabric worked for what I needed. It has decent 2-way (with and cross grain) stretch, it doesn't fray much at all, and it's held up in the wash so far. It's not a whole lot of fun to cut or sew - use a fresh blade or else sharp scissors, and I had to start and stop seams carefully so as not to get a tension mess, but that's probably the nature of stretch lace in general. I used French seams, which weren't bulky and are more durable. It does look synthetic, but I'd buy it again for costume use.I ended up cutting my pieces with the fabric rotated 90°, so parallel to the cut edges rather than the selvedges, because I thought the print looked better that way.

I am using this lace to make veils for women in my Church, and, it is exactly what I needed! Not too stretchy, and it is nice and soft. I am using another stretchy lace edging, and, it is nice and easy to work with both.
