At first sight I thought it was too large.... but as soon as I put it in his cage, and Rudy had a chance to check it out, our African grey took to it right away! We put it higher than his other perches, as recommended and he loves to sit on it. It has become his favorite. We have not had it long enough to see the effect on his nails or cleaning yet but I am anticipating good results!!

I got this for my African grey parrot. Her nails were getting really sharp and so was her beak. It was time.I’m the past I’ve gotten perch that were all pumice and I love those. This one is mixed with sleek plastic and pumice. And she likes it the same. This one is alot lighter though so it won’t weigh as much in the cage. ( idk if that makes a differnce) but still 10/10. Different but we approve.

I ordered the XL perch for my Scarlet Macaw. Her nails grow crazy fast so we try to keep a perch for her that has the rough texture. Well, this DOES have two stripes of the pumice glued on, but it doesn't look like it will be very useful as the stripes are not very hefty. It also doesn't look like a perch. It is absolutely functional and IS A PERCH, but it looks more like an adult "toy" in bright teal lol. Maybe for a much smaller bird this would be perfect, but for my girl it is nothing more than an interesting looking conversation piece.
