One worked great and I used it for several days. But when I installed the other two they both cycled on and off regardless of if there was motion or not.

Purchased for triggering overhead lights while camping. Used with two 30 watt led lights. Had to use two relays to keep the sensors from back feeding into one another. Found the adjustability to be excellent. Only thing that challenged me was the light detection adjustment is delayed so if changing you have to wait a little while for adjustment to take place. Not a big deal if you realize it takes a little time.

Purchased this for a solar security project with specs of:1) 25 ft. detection range2) day & night detection (day for testing & tracking - not turning on lights)3) minimum time "on": 8 seconds (Would prefer a "short" detection pulse - but not a requirement)Control of the detection was controlled by an Arduino micro-controller.2024 Update:When testing on my bench, I had no defined color codes, schematic - any thing. Tried the "13 answered questions", but nothing came up. Looking through the comments, found someone had provided their system wiring and somewhat labeled the connections. Found that Blue and Brown wires can be reversed and PIR still works. This is great! For long runs of wire for "short,Trigger Detection" and need +12V for trigger. For straight lighting, the "Ground Trigger" works better. Here is my attempt to explain the motion sensor:Color codes:Blue: +12V input powerBrown: Common/GroundRed: Motion Detection = Ground- - - - - - - - -Color codes:Blue: Common/GroundBrown: +12V input powerRed: Motion Detection = +12VSystem Operation: In quiescent state (no object detected) no connection to Red wire. When object is detected, the Brown wire connection is applied to the red wire.NOTE: for the following description the motion sensor was pointed in the "up" direction (lens pointed up) and the controls on the "bottom" of the sensor, facing the user.The LUX setting (right side) controls when the motion sensor is "working" - Fully clockwise (Sun Image), the motion sensor is on all the time. Turning the control counterclockwise, you can adjust the sensor to start working at the light level you desire.The Time setting (Middle) controls how long the sensor is in the "Detection State" (usually a light turns on). My testing revealed a minimum of 5 seconds and a maximum of ??? minutes. Doesn't say and I did not need the max time.The Sensitivity setting (Left) controls how much infra-red the object has to emit to be detected. Fully clockwise is maximum. Adjust the control counterclockwise to "tune out" small pets or bigger pets, depending on your needs.For my detection system, I connected a 6.8k resistor to the red wire (Detector wire) and the other end of the resistor to a 4.7k resistor paralleled to a 5.1V Zener diode, then connected to the blue wire to Common/Ground and the Brown wire to +12VDC. The intersection of the resistors functioned as a 4.8VDC digital input to my Arduino micro-controller.If the distributor had supplied the above, would have given saved a lot of misunderstanding, but 5 stars is what the motion detector deserves...

This is a good individual price for this bulk pack of three.I always test on my bench and they always work. I use them outside and they work very well. The product itself deserves the highest 5 star rating. I gave it a one star lower rating of 4 stars because the Seller failed to provide even a simple schematic much less a real Data Sheet. I mean, how hard is it to include a single piece of paper along with the product? I got all my information from the website and made a document for my projects notebook.Some of the other reviewers have stated that this is a hit and miss for working or not working at all. Some of the reviewers have stated that it IS NOT waterproof. It certainly has been designed to be waterproof with Silicone O-rings sealing the swivel joint and sealing the threaded mounting nipple. I think it may leak at the poorly assembled seal around the perimeter of the PIR lens. I could use my fingernail to gently press the PIR lens out of position in some places around its perimeter. Clearly, the PIR lens was not glued sufficiently to not leak. Before using it outside I sealed the PIR lens perimeter with two applications of a very small amount of thick gel liquid electrical tape. Then I also sealed the PIR lens perimeter with a very small bead of Silicone Caulk. If the PIR sensor fails because of water infiltration, I will update this review.The thread size DOES NOT match the nominal ½” electric junction box knockout sized hole. The weird smaller male thread is close enough to 3/8” NPT so you can use an adapter bushing to attach to a standard ½” knockout hole. You can get the brass bushing you need from all over Amazon. The bushing size is Female 3/8” x Male ½” .
