Bought same looking one previously but spent a little more on it. This one was not so good. Doesn’t sit flat. Doesn’t catch much.

This does exactly what we needed it for --- a temporary shower drain hair catcher for our 4" square drain. My wife has a ton of hair and I used to have to always clean the drain. This simple drain cover is great to catch most of the hair and just lift it off, clean it, put it back. Absolutely gets the job done. Heavy enough with a strong shower to stay in place, as long as you don't kick it with your foot. Wish it came in white to match the marble, but hey, this still works.

These initially caught my eye because of the black color (all our fixture and accents are black) and the size. But unfortunately they don't secure to the floor, so they move if you kick it. And they don't capture all the hair; the holes are still too big.

I ordered these to replace the plastic one I was currently using. Eventually that type of drain trap stains and has to be replaced so I decided to give the square stainless steel type a try. This type of drain trap is nearly flat which is an advantage when you clean it out. This one was easier to remove hair, lint, and other debris that can end up in the drain when you're done showering. I often work with drywall and insulation so my drain can get quite clogged up on certain days. This type of trap is better at letting the excess water through so there was no puddling around the drain during the shower. I found this product to be much easier to clean than the plastic kind with the cup.The only time during my testing that presented any problem with fit was when you initially run the water before turning the shower on. When the water hits the flat trap it tends to slightly move it off center. The silicone bottom does a fine job after the shower is turned on but once you get in you'll have to make sure the trap is correctly placed over the drain to ensure maximum efficiency. Once that is done there should be no problems regarding a proper fit.I would recommend these over the scooped plastic drain traps. The flatter design is better at catching everything while making it easier to clean. The construction is better than the plastic ones and should last far longer as the materials that it is made up of won't stain or rust. You get two traps with this package and the fair market price point makes it the better option particularly when you consider that you get a superior product adding to the product's value.
