I ordered this Orange Warm Correction Filter Colored Film for taping over the bright white halogen lights in my stove hood, rather than for photography purposes. What I didn't realize is that I was getting 5 full sheets! So, I have plenty of orange film to use for lots of other light filtering possibilities! This orange color certainly functions well in reducing the stark white glare of these halogen lights and causes them to appear more warm. I'm hopeful that this film is durable enough to withstand the heat that emanates from these halogen bulbs. I would definitely recommend this product for softening the light in photography and other applications such as mine.

These gels or 'films' are good for warming up your light source. They make a pretty big difference and can always be 'double-stacked' if not warm enough for your application. They work good on flashes or constant light sources. You can simply cut and tape them to the size you need. They are decent thickness wise and look like they can stand up to multiple uses. They do not come 'smooth and flat' as mentioned in the listing though. They arrived tightly rolled.

These are really a nice touch for photography! I chose the lighter shade of amber/orange because I had the sense it would be enough warmth and I was right.Hidden usefulness, they are great at counteracting the LED "blue light" that messes with our melatonin and circadian rhythm.I cut a piece of this and put it right over a desk lamp of mine to create a warm glow. Perfect.I put a piece over another LED light I use for photography. It adds a significant amount of warmth. The thickness and quality seems peefect to me and with dual uses it's a great value.

As a fulltime filmmaker now Highschool teacher because of the economy, I need to find cost effective solutions to make movies. And on a public school budget this is what we can afford. Now those are not brand name like Rosco, but do the job. Of course, I would not use them on a first class production, but for teaching kids about color gels those are perfect.I also don't have a way to see if the colors are accurate. a CTO filter is to convert a 5500k light to 3200, so 1/4 will get you around 4500K. Rosco is 80% transmission, I don't know about those. Meaning, with a brand name filter you get about 80% of your light, now in a different color. And yes you will lose 20% of light intensity for each filter stacked. So if you want to go from 5500k to 3200k you need a full CT filter.
