Update - after using this on some additional tools, I have discovered that this battery does not clip into all tools properly. I went to use my Ryobi scrubber, and the battery would not clip in on either side. On my small personal fan, it only clips in on one side, which I have added a picture for. None of my original batteries have fit issues. So, while this does work on some tools, you run the risk of it not fitting on others. I can now not recommend this battery.-------------------So far, this Ryobi 18V battery has been doing the job! I ran it on a fan for several hours on low, and it kept going strong without running out of juice. It also worked well on my Ryobi shop vac. At this point, I have to believe it's true to the advertised 5Ah.The charge indicator lights are on the back, which I’m guessing is meant to make them easier to see when the battery’s in certain tools (e.g., a drill). Makes sense, but it’s a little odd going to check when you're used to the lights being on the front. Not a big deal, as I'm not typically doing frequent level checks.Like most off-brand batteries, the big question is how long it’ll last. I’ve had some champs and some total duds in the past. But so far, this one’s looking like a winner!

I have a wide array of Ryobi 18V tools and find that I can never have too many batteries when I'm working on jobs that require a number of tools and I don't want to switch batteries often. When I saw this one had a light panel on it I thought it was a great idea and could be very useful when working in dark places like installing drawer slides in cabinets. While it was a good idea the reality is that it only is a glowing panel and does not put out enough light to be of any use. I think that is really unfortunate since it could have set this seller apart from all the rest by adding a unique and useful feature that others do not.Since the light was of no use I tested the battery to see how it performs compared to the others I have. I made sure that it would work with all my drills, sanders, saws, compressors, router, blower, glue guns, vacuums, led lights, nail and staple guns, grinders and fans and they all did function as expected. In regard to capacity I feel that the run time is acceptable for the rated capacity.So the battery does work but there is one other issue and that is the price. In regard to pricing, at the time of writing this review the battery was priced at $34 which is considerably more than most of the other comparable after market batteries I have seen on Amazon. Since the light is just a gimmick and there is nothing else that sets this battery apart from the competitors I feel the price is excessive and before buying you should do some comparative shopping and read the reviews.If the seller can reconfigure the battery so that the light panel puts out a bright, functional light I think the price could be justified and worth a 5 star rating but until then I think you can find better options.

Over the past few years, I have almost exclusively switched to third-party batteries for my various power tool brands including Ryobi 18V. They are so much less expensive than OEM and the quality has been very good.This battery is shown on the product page as being 5.0 Ah, but the one I received says 5.5 Ah... no complaints. My experience with these off-brand batteries is the stated capacities are usually close to what is listed, but some may be .5 to 1.0 lower. However, the savings more than make up for that.This battery synced up fine with my Ryobi brand chargers. One of my chargers is a little finicky, but it worked fine with this battery. Charging time when this is fully drained is comparable to my other similar batteries.I used this with both my router and circular saw and it pulled a heavy load with no issues. Nice value.

This 18 volt battery works great. It fits all my Ryobi tools normally, and without any difficulty inserting/removing. Also, the stated 5Ah capacity doesn't seem to be too far off. When using the leaf blower, it seems like this new battery gives me about the same working time as the stock 4Ah battery. And, when it comes to high-draw devices like a die grinder, this new battery also performs similar to a stock, non-HP 4Ah battery. For me, it seems like weight is a good indicator of quality. This new battery weighs 23.2 ounces, compared to a stock 4Ah weighing 25.0 ounces. Also, the battery has a light on the front, a great idea. Unfortunately, it's too diffuse and dim to be of much use.
