This product was received as part of a promotion. I got this set of dustless chalk for my daughter, who loves to do anything with arts and crafts. I love how this set of chalk is dustless. Neither she or I sneeze when coming into contact with the chalk. The chalk is more of a waxy feel than a rocky feel, but it goes on and looks like chalk. The chalk comes with 4 magnetic holders. All you have to do to open a holder up is to press the circular button on the end in then it opens up so you can insert some chalk in. There are 60 different colors of chalk to choose from! I like that the magnetic holders are simple for us to hold, and they sure would be simple for small hands (i.e. toddler or preschool, etc.) to hold as well. All you have to do to remove the chalk is get a paper towel or rag wet and wipe it off. It's an effortless process that makes art fun without breathing in dust!

I recently bought a calendar chalkboard and purchased pencil chalk, chalk markers, and sidewalk chalk to use with it. I saw the dustless chalk and wanted to give it a try.The item arrived with a handful of broken chalk, which I wasn’t really surprised to see and wouldn’t have been the biggest deal if the item itself had worked for my needs. The chalk feels very waxy and is dustless with four holders that are really easy to use. The holders have a magnetic strip so I’m able to leave them on my chalkboard which is very convenient.The issue is that the color payoff of the dustless chalk on my calendar is very light. This is a little dependent on color, but it’s overall just not as bold as the other types of chalk I have. I’m assuming the lack of intense pigment is because of the waxier nature of the product. I’ve attached a picture that shows, on the left, chalk pencil and sidewalk chalk used on my calendar and, on the right, the dustless chalk. At a distance, it’s difficult to see what I’ve written with the dustless chalk. For my purposes, this doesn’t work, which is a shame.

The chalk arrived intact and with all pieces listed on the product page included. The chalk feels very waxy, like cheap crayons. I'm sure this is what is necessary to keep it from being dusty but it is something to get used to if you are used to the regular chalk. On the plus side, it does not get all over your hands and everything around the chalkboard. But on the down side, it is super hard to see! It's almost like coloring with the cheap crayons as well. It works, but not as well as the name brand ones. I have to write some spots more than once and the once that show up are usually to light to really see. It does erase well, which I was worried about when first using it. The holders are very nice quality and include a magnetic strip so you can keep it on the chalkboard when not in use (as long as the board is magnetic).

A few of the chalk pieces arrived broken. Their texture is similar to crayons but with less wax. Unfortunately, they are not as pigmented as I had hoped. However, I do appreciate that they are not messy, and the clean-up is simple—I just use a damp towel on the green chalkboard, and it doesn’t leave the residue typically associated with regular chalk. I also really like that they come with a couple of chalk holders, which I think is a great feature. The holders make the chalk less fragile, and my 2-year-old has a much better grip with them. I recommend this product.
