It doesn't support setting or changing password fingerprint on any other device besides Apple. In other words it is useless

You can't access stored files from an iPhone or iPad unless you have the i-encrypted app installed! I understand requiring the app to setup the fingerprints, but why can't I use the Files app to access my files the same way I can on a desktop or Android? This prevents you from being able to transfer files to someone else's iPad unless they install the app.I really liked the multi-connector feature of this drive (although it comes with removable covers that are bound to get lost) but the app requirement is making me return it.

The i-Encrypted app must be installed before use which can be easily and quickly downloaded from the APP Store. The app is simple to use and allows entering, adding to, or removing multiple fingerprints. As usual, the first step is to enter a master password which is the only way to recover data if unable to unlock with the fingerprint sensor. Fingerprint recognition went quickly.Once set up, there was 250 GB of encrypted storage space with 32 GB of Apps Storage available on the drive. Windows 11 recognizes it as a generic USB Flashdrive using driver USBSTOR.sys. The drive is not recognized or visible in File Explorer on Windows until the fingerprint is read so apparently the password can be used only on the iPhone. The USB interface is described as providing a theoretical max speed of 480 megabits per sec although on my computer it registered read/write speeds of 13.2 MB per sec which is only about 22% of the described theoretical maximum, but still pretty quick. This device worked as expected and has been easy to use and reliable so far. The main limitation for me, and the reason for the deduction of one star, is the unusual Y-shaped design which seems a little bulky, and causes some irritating issues. Each of the 3 interface plugs has its own, unique cap. The drive itself has 3 symbols printed on it for the connection identities but caps are not labeled, so if more than one is removed at a time you need to examine the inside of each cap to determine which one is which – or just use trial and error to recap. Also the size and shape can make it difficult to insert in a USB port without plenty of surrounding space. Once plugged in, you need to be able to reach the center with your finger to unlock it and that is impossible if there is another plug in an adjacent port, although the drive does work fine over a USB extension cable. Overall this has been a useful device for encrypted storage and data transfer between my iPhone and computer.

I vet every memory storage by copying data to it and measuring how much time it takes and if the data stays. I copied over 60GB of mp3 and mp4 and it took under ten minutes. The box includes a link to an iPhone app that allows encrypting of data and backing up the data along with a finger print sensor.

this is a great storage drive with built in security, if you ever have to carry important files you can do it securely with this drive, I can easily recommend it for daily use
