Works great. I have one in my 75 gallon aquarium and my 50 as well as a canister filter. Keeps both my aquarium’s crystal clear. My only complaint is when trying to clean and put back in place the hose tends to keep coming off of the filter and is a pain to keep on. Recommend!

I have 2 120 gallon tanks, I tossed about 3 in each of the tanks and I love it, great price too I always shop online when buying equipment for my fish, much cheaper than buying at the store itself.

Very well made and I strongly believe this to be the best sponge filter on the market. I have one in each of my 11 aquariums, different sizes of course but no matter what size you need the quality will be the same.

As sponge filters go, there is not much rocket science behind it. You simply in certain air stone and let the gentle suction produce filtration that houses beneficial bacteria for your tank for proper nitrogen cycling. I noticed that the sponge itself was a bit on the stiff side, but the pore size seemed like most others. If you have a 50 gallon or more tank, this would be a solid buy!

I ordered this for a new 125g setup which will be used along with two cannister filters. Measuring nearly 11 inches from base to the top of the plastic tube, it was even bigger, and better than expected. These new designs with space for bio media in the base is becoming the new standard. The included ceramic bio balls (think Cocoa Puffs) are already inside the filter tube, more than needed for me, so I removed half of them for later use. This filter also has a couple other features that make it my "NEW" go to design. First is the screw on/off cap. Most of my previous sponge filters had a snap on and off design. Simpler I know, but some of my older filter tops are wearing, and the top doesn't stay secured as well, and eventually won't stay in place. Also, because it takes less force to remove the cap, there is less of a disturbance when removing the top, so it will have less of the sponge shedding some of it's captured debris back into the water. The 2nd feature is also a must have for me. That is the air stone space built into the top. Now for some, not a must. But I prefer my sponge filters to use air stones as I like the smaller bubbles, since larger bubbles straight from an air line create more splatter and spray at the surface which causes more build up and deposits on the lid. The filter also includes a length of black silicone air line with 1 to 2 way splitter, and a back flow valve. All of this for less than most medium size filters that do not include some of the improvements or accessories / media that comes with this filter. This might be the best bang for the buck in a sponge filter right now !
