I read the reviews and yes, there is a slight rubber smell. The smell was gone after about an hour, so no worries there. It took my yorkie 12hrs to discover the joys of self scratching, so now his groans and huffs can be heard periodically through the house. I ended up not using the provided screws, because my couch cushions are deep enough that I can tuck the ends in, and the mat knobs hold it in place. He likes it, we like it and I consider it a win win. I'd recommend if you got an itching dog. Good luck!

I received the Soft Itch Relief Pad and was initially disappointed to find that it only came with one piece (not two as advertised). The size is okay, but the strong chemical smell when I opened the package was overwhelming.On the bright side, my dogs seem to enjoy using it as a scratcher and massage mat. However, I'm still waiting to see if the smell fades and if it's durable enough for regular use.

So small that my dog doesn't even notice it when i installed it.I dont recommend.

Nice size for small to medium dogs, or cats. My dogs took a little bit to figure it out, but then all the wiggles happened and they seem to really like it. The only real downside is keeping it clean. Rinsing off isn't enough, so I used my vacuum cleaner the second time and this worked better. Then when i washed it, a lot of the fur was gone. Happy to have found this item.
