Really nice build quality and selection of adapters. Very nice value for the price point even if you just need additional parts. Great reception and sound quality, sets up easily.

The antenna itself is a nicely made 1/4 wave vertical antenna. It includes an allen wrench for minor adjustment of the whip. It also includes a RG58 coax assembly with a PL259 for your radio and a SO239 base assembly for the whip. The base assembly mounts to the 'L' bracket and the included U bolts allow you to mount this to a small mast. Here is the issue. The mount does not include any radials for the mount. This is a 1/4 wave vertical and radials are REQUIRED unless you are mounting this on or closely above a metal surface. You can mount this on a metal pole on your vessel and that will help, but it will affect your SWR and tuning. The best solution is to mount this on a metal surface or to attach 3-4 small metal rods or wires about 17-18 inches long to the ground part of the antenna mount. These should be at a 90 degree angle to the vertical section, or you can droop them at a 45 deg. angle to the horizontal. If you mount this on a nonmetalic surface, or a pole without radials it will work, but your range, tuning, and SWR will be affected adversely. The antenna and coax are decent enough. The mount is not really adequate though for most nonprofessionals to mount correctly. A good value for what you get, but add some radial of your own for best performance. This will be a short range antenna at best. The higher you mount this on your structure/vessel the better the range.

This Long Range VHF Marine Radio Antenna is of excellent quality, the box comes with everything you need to install it, it was very easy to connect it to my radio, the communication is very clear and sharp, I installed it in my FJ cruiser truck that I use to compete off road and communication is extremely important, so this antenna has worked correctly at all times.

What a great little VHF marine antenna by Eifagur! (With and emphasis on "little" - it is only seventeen inches tall). With a frequency range: 156-163MH, a gain of 2.5dBi and an Impedance of 50 Ohms, the maximum power Input of 50 watts makes this small antenna very big on performance! Also, the Eifagur VHF marine antenna is made of a high quality spring steel that is anodized to prevent corrosion and comes with marine grade stainless steel mounting bracket, marine grade stainless u-bolts and marine grade screws and bolts, along with all other hardware for an easy installation, anywhere on your boat! (Note: if you will be mounting this antenna on a mast top, you will need to order additional antenna cable, because this kit comes with a 16 foot cable only). The hardware makes mounting this antenna in many diverse locations that will continue to make it functional, and will not be in the way of your boat's operation. The kit comes with a 5m low loss RG-58 cable and PL259 connector to make its performance optimal. This antenna is specifically designed for use with any 156-163MHz device and with its installation, will improve the receiving and transmitting signal from your current VHF radio. The bracket set is made of marine grade stainless steel and comes with corrosion resistant screws u-bolt and a direct mount collar, making it suitable for mounting outdoors for bad weather, harsh ocean environments of wherever the elements are tough on metal. The kit also includes gaskets and seals (you need to provide your own caulking for through hull mounting) and the kit makes the installation nearly waterproof and weather resistant. The three locations for installing this antenna are on a railing with u-bolts, or on the hull above the rub rail, with the use of the stainless bracket, or for a direct through hull mount (using the antenna's own shank and stainless/ nickel nut and washer. and no brackets or mounting plate. (I used the hole that was left in the hull where my windshield wiper motor used to be...)VHF radios installed on boats, yachts, motorboats and other equipment need an antenna that can operate between 156-163MHz and this Eifagur antenna is designed with a base load to operate within that range. The best feature of this antenna it is size. The seventeen inch tall VHF marine antenna will stay nicely out of you way and you will not have to raise and lower it as you do with most 44 to 48 inch antenna, but get the same performance and range out of you VHF Marin Radio. It is a great "little" antenna with a big performance.
