My dad's old washer was taking short walks across the laundry room just about every time he used it and complained when he plugged it back in that he was "Cramping my style, son, I wanna see the world! At least give me enough cord to get close to that hottie dryer over there."Walks and washer are two words that should never appear in the same sentence, so I knew it was time for action.I ordered these springs, took apart FAR more of the machine than I had anticipated, and replaced the old crusty, rusty, and, in the case of one, broken springs. Of course, along the way, I had to deal with screws that refused to budge, and the loose nut wielding the screwdriver. One reviewer said that a special tool makes the job much easier, and he was not incorrect. I found that a pair of vise grips of medium length and the palm of my dominant hand were sufficient when used as lever and fulcrum respectively.The first load I did was both heavy and deliberately off-balance. Now the washer only complains about my father using dish soap rather than laundry detergent.Oh. Wait. That was me doing the complaining. On the bright side, the laundry room floor is clean.Briefly.Dad's two labs came tearing through after playing in the rain ... and mud ... and twigs ... and dead leaves. 💀 too bad the taste of dog doesn't appeal ... I'd have bitten both as they flew by.Oh, well, that's life with dogs.yay ...

Using YouTube videos and aftermarket appliance websites to diagnose the cause of my Maytag Atlantis washer's shaking and moving around during spin cycle, I bought this set of 6 springs, as well as a replacement Snubber Ring and a pack of #10x24 x 1 inch stainless steel machine screws needed for the snubber-ring replacement.It took longer to replace the springs than the videos suggested - due to my washer *not* having a rear maintenance port through which I could easily replace the back 3 of 6 suspension springs - but together with my son we were able to use vise-grip pliers to grab, wrestle with, and unhook the old ones and then hook-up the new ones.We did this after first removing the entire guts of the machine to turn the tub upside down and carefully replace the snubber ring.After reassembling the whole thing, before lowering the top I installed a new Water Inlet Valve to replace the one that's been in there since April 2016.I ran a load of wash this morning to test it all out, and am delighted to say that the washer 1) agitates better, 2) spins faster, and 3) no longer rocks wildly and nosily while moving around the floor. Plus, with the new inlet valve the water for each wash stage sprays into the tub far faster than it did yesterday, which meant the wash load completed its run a few minutes faster than before.The entire repair process took several hours, which would've cost me $200-$500 on a plumber's time-and-materials bill. I paid somewhere around $50-$75 for the parts from Amazon.
