The latch on my 2016 BMW228i just stopped working for some reason. The part at the dealership was over $150. I gave this one a shot and it worked great. Took me a minute to figure out the cable release mechanism, but once I did, installation was a breeze. Highly recommend. Save yourself some money and aggravation, and pick up one of these latches and do it yourself.

Trunk lid would not latch shut or lock. Received several quotes for hundreds of dollars to fix the problem. Then thought we’d try our luck here to see if we could at least order the part ourselves to save a few bucks and after finding the right replacement, we watched a few videos and tried our hand at the repair and it was a success! Saved us hundreds of dollars. The part arrived quickly appeared to be of the same quality as the original (bmw) factory part being replaced. Would highly recommend!
