I recently had to replace an HVAC heater blend door actuator on my 2016 Audi A3 sedan, as the windshield defroster wasn’t working. After seeing couple YouTube videos on replacing it, I gave it a try. I pulled out the CD player (still CD?) inside the glovebox. That’s only possible when using couple special thin metal tools to slide inside the small slots on the player and disconnecting a few wires. Then, removed another 8 screws that held the glovebox in place. Once I had access to the heater actuator which was located on the left hand side of the glovebox and behind the center of the climate control unit, I removed couple screws that held the actuator in place (btw, this requires some patience and skills) and replaced it with the new one that I just bought on Amazon. I made sure it worked before I put everything back. So, this job would have costed me a fortune at the dealer. Now, let’s see how long it will last!

Very difficult to orient yourself to change these out, but well worth the savings doing it yourself. This piece did the job for my 2017 golf.

Update - 2 weeks of use:* Reduced from 5 to 5 stars.The part works well, but it "misfires" every once in a while, always the first time it's activated after the car is turned on, and then it works every time afterwards.I scanned the car using my OBDEleven and it keeps on saying the "front door actuator jammed".I've deleted all errors multiple times, but it comes back as soon as I delete it.The calibration cycle was ran multiple times, but didn't help fixing the issue.As long as it works, and I just see this error as an annoyance in the logs, I'm fine with it.==============================================I used this to replace part 5Q0907511A in my 2016 Audi A3.The part feels sturdy and well built. It's as heavy as the original part.Perfect fit, it looks a bit different than the original part but it has the exact same location of the screw holes and the actuator arm, tight fit.Worked from first try. Time will tell how long it will last.
