My knives have never been this sharp. Been sharpening with stones for years but never got a scary sharp edge like I did with the precision pro sharpener. Even my knives with “super steels” like s90v or magnacut are easy to get a razor edge on. Incredible product and great fast service. It was packaged securely and I had it to my door in a few days.

I purchased 3 of these, and mine was made of all plastic all 3 times. Not the expensive all-metal one.

Super zufrieden. Alles scharf bekommen. Aber so richtig! Besser geht nicht. Ist aber etwas für den geduldigen, dafür hat man aber auch Qualität!!!

A knife is a tool. If you're reading this, there's a good chance you're like me; you're someone who cares about his tools and values absolute precision. A sharp knife saves time and produces superior results...or at least that's how I justify the purchase of a $400 knife sharpener to my wife...I've always sharpened my knives on a whetstone, but I've never been truly happy with the results. The knives are always sharp, but it's a time intensive process, the results are always inconsistent and I find the knives dull quickly which means I spend a lot more time sharpening than I believe I should. The Professional Precision Adjust (PPA) solves all of these problems, especially that inconsistency. The design means every knife sharpened on it will achieve the bevel of your choosing, from 10° to more than 30° and anything in between.There are hours of youtube videos that demonstrate how to use the PPA so I'll skip the basics, but I do find a few things worth mentioning, starting with the design and engineering required to make this this thing in the first place. Everything is usefully considered and the PPA requires no special skills to get startlingly good results.This is an extremely secure, solid device with precious little flex. In use, the entire sharpening process couldn't be easier; the abrasive is held firmly to the arm by a strong magnet, which means changing that abrasive is as easy as pulling the old one off and sliding a new one on.The magnetic digital angle finder is a major plus for this system - it simply holds itself in place on the abrasive arm as you set your final sharpening angle. You never feel the need to have three hands to use any part of this system. Point of fact, this could be used easily by someone with only one hand.But it's the results that matter. Regardless of how dull the knife I've started with, the end result always leaves me giddy. Razor blades. Every one of them.$400 is a fair chunk of cash, but I wholeheartedly recommend the Professional Precision Adjust. You won't be disappointed, even though your wife may smirk at how happy your 'expensive toy' makes you.If you buy, allow me to share a few tips I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else:(1) Wipe the knife blade and the sharpening media after every second or third pass - this greatly speeds up the sharpening process(2) Since the arm that holds the abrasives sweeps left and right during sharpening, it has a tendency to loosen. Remember to tighten the arm after every few knives or it could fall out of the pivot during sharpening.(3) Care needs to be taken when sharpening thin blade knives (think: fillet knives). With these blades, it's very easy to rub the abrasive across the clamp holding the knife, leaving a mark on its corners. I like to think of them as 'battle scars' and I already have 2 on my 2 week old PPA. It doesn't effect its use in any way, but they're scars nonetheless.Finally, you need to be careful with your hand movements as you're sharpening. I've inadvertently cut myself three times. The clumsy (like me) will quickly learn to not be.I've found only one thing the manufacturer missed: Every part of the PPA is meant to be an all inclusive system, including the outer and inner boxes and the styrofoam liner. They should have included a plastic handle on the top of the main box for easy carry. But that's it. There are no other omissions or changes I would suggest, and I find that extremely impressive for such an elaborate device.

Das Gerät hat schon seinen Preis, ist aber nur vom Funktionsprinzip mit den Geräten von z.B. Lansky vergleichbar. Der Scheifwinkel lässt sich sehr präzise einstellen, was bei Lansky nur grob möglich ist. Ob man das wirklich braucht, muss jeder für sich entscheiden. Im Set ist alles, was man für das Nachschleifen wirklich braucht. Es gibt auch eine preiswertere Variante, die überwiegend aus Kunststoff gefertigt ist, aber auch gut funktioniert. Momentan (12/2023) sind noch keine (Ersatz-)Schleifblätter bei amazon erhältlich. Diese gibt es in DE aber bei anderen Anbietern. Ersatzteile gibt es auf der Herstellerseite (alle einzeln).Vergleichbare Schleifsysteme andere Hersteller (sicherlich mehr im professionellen Bereich angesiedelt) liegen schnell mal bei 2.000 - 2.500 Euro. Für den heimischen Einsatz also ein gutes Produkt. Wenn schnell ein Messer zu schärfen ist, eine gute Option. Ansonsten lieber Wassersteine von Naniwa, die aber einige Übung erfordern. Wer nur hin und wieder sein Taschenmesser schleifen möchte, der wird z.B. bei Lansky fündig. Mit größeren Küchenmessern wird das mit dem Lansky-System aber schon schwieriger. Dann ist das Gerät wirklich gut und auch ohne große Übung zu bedienen. Das Schleifergebnis ist wirklich hervorragend. Dadaruch, dass man trocken schleift, bleibt die Umgebung relativ sauber. Mit Wasser- ooder Ölsteinen sieht das dann schon anders aus. Allerdings sollte man sich vorher mit dem Klingelschleifen grundsätzlich beschäftigen und den Schneidwinkel seines Messers kennen.
