I bought this mesh router after 10 years with an Orbi mesh system. I prefer the ASUS units. Super-easy to deploy with outstanding performance. Connections can weaken when the two units overlap in the middle of my house. Bonding my stationary devices to a specific ASUS unit helped their performance. The iOS app is helpful for checking settings.

Pairing with my current ZenWifi was problematic, but after a couple of days, things seems to have panned out.

If you're new to mesh systems, take it out if the box and follow the quick guide and do nothing else you'll be fine.Any advanced settings you're best to search Reddit. The online manual shows examples of other routers. C'mon Asus, if I'm buying an ET9, DON'T use instructions for an RT-AC88U. Asus makes good products, lousy support, documentation and FAQ. After spending HOURS looking up how tops on their advanced features, my ET9s are working great. Asus really isn't made for the basic, average, every day consumer.

Get Tp-link if you want simplicity. ASUS documentation is woefully lacking. They'll tell you what things are, but don't explain well how to implement them. Especially using other models as an example. I might as well have bought the other model.
