I recently purchased the Nagoya NA-F30 tactical folding antenna for my Baofeng UV-5RM, and I’m thoroughly impressed! This antenna is a game-changer for anyone looking to enhance their radio’s performance. Right out of the box, it feels incredibly durable—built with high-quality materials that give it a rugged, reliable vibe perfect for outdoor use.The folding design is a huge plus, making it easy to store or carry without sacrificing functionality. When paired with my UV-5RM, the NA-F30 delivers exceptional signal clarity and range, noticeably improving reception and transmission compared to the stock antenna. Whether I’m out hiking or using it in urban settings, it performs flawlessly.Overall, the Nagoya NA-F30 is a fantastic upgrade—durable, practical, and highly effective. If you’re looking to boost your Baofeng’s capabilities, this antenna is absolutely worth it! Highly recommend!

I bought this antenna for my UV5R, it folds up quite nicely and the Velcro strap holds it in place well. However if you’re running it while extended, it’s a measuring tape style metal and when you put any pressure on it, even when walking it’ll fold over and drag on the ground. If you’re running it on a bag like I am, I recommend getting an antenna re routing cable and weaving the antenna through your molle so it has more support. Other than that it works well, reception and transmitting works quite well

This antenna had good reviews so I purchased a two pack, the only one I’ve used out of the two sort of broke when trying to unscrew it off my radio, what I mean by that, is it has threads that screw up into the antenna that were glued together, and then the threads on the bottom screw into the radio. It’s fixable, just got to add some locktite or glue. Just doesn’t seem like a quality way to attach the two together. I also purchased a little longer Abbree antenna when I made this purchase, and that antenna seems way better quality wise, from the thickness of the antenna itself to the base where it attaches to the radio. All thicker and quality components. I think I’ll stick with Abbree from here on out should I need another antenna down the road.

The NA-F30 30” folding antenna seems relatively well built, and my specific one will mostly stay upright on its own when unfolded. There are no Nagoya markings on the antenna itself, only the packaging. The QR code on the package does take you to a Nagoya site so it’s as legit as my untrained, unknowledgeable self could determine. The antenna does not fit on a Baofeng UV-9G handheld radio. The base of the antenna would need some considerable cutting to it. It does screw onto the radio and will pick up transmissions, but compared to the antenna the radio came with, it is evident it is not screwed in all the way.Unsure if I will keep the antenna or not and modify the base to fit. I like the appearance of it and the idea of a longer antenna for better range, but strongly dislike that it does not fit even though the Amazon listing says fits all Baofeng radios.
