This lighter is ready to go right out of the box. It has a nice gold tone to it with a fun textured pattern. The lid is spring loaded and makes a distinctive clink when opening and closing. As soon as the lid is lifted, the LED indicators on the side show you the battery life left. Simply press the copper colored button and you get a beautiful purple X electrical flame pattern across the electrodes. It reminds me of a stun gun, but it will burn whatever flammable surface you set it to. With that in mind, it does an okay job of lighting cigarettes, but cigars are a little more difficult to get lit. The flame lasts for 6 seconds at a time before it automatically goes out, and it seems to hold up fine in the wind, although it has a cool spaz effect. I like the build in flashlight on the bottom that works with the lid closed. For the price, it's not a bad little lighter. A good gift, and a good conversation starter if anything.

I was very disappointed when I looked at the bottom of the lighter and saw it doesn't actually charge with USB-C like the product page claims. It's micro-USB. It's really sad because the build quality of the lighter is top notch. It feels really good in the hand and the texture feels nice and grippy. I don't carry around a micro-USB cord though. No one does! At least it comes with one so I can at least charge it, because I don't have any of those old cords lying around anymore.
