Baitcaster reel cover arrived in simple packaging and looks exactly like the listing pictures (Pics# 1, 2, & 3). As described, it is soft, lightweight, and well constructed. The stitching on the material was even and in a zig-zag pattern which adds durability because there's more material coverage with the thread versus a single line stitch.Installation was on my Shimano Curado 150 DC HG reel (left handed). With the reel off of the rod and just covering the reel itself, the fit was quite tight and I would accidentally hit the reel handle out of the horizontal position pulling on the cover and had to realign the handle back to the horizontal postion again because the reel cover goes over the handle to attach. Maybe it will loosen up a little down the road, but it is a tight fit and required a little stretching to reach the velcro.With the reel installed on the rod, installation was a little more challenging. The Curado is a slim, low profile reel and once installed onto the rod, the gap between the reel and rod was to small to slide the bottom flaps between so I had to just bend them back. I'm sure I could have gotten them through but I didn't want to chance damaging anything. Since the cover was already a tight fit to begin with, it was more challenging now because I had to get the flap over the rod as well to reach the velcro. After a few install attemps, the result can be seen in pics #4 & #5, The reel is a left handed one and you can see one of the flaps bent to get the cover over the reel so I could pull the flap over the handle to attach. You can see a lot of reel uncovered and unprotected. Other reel cover designs fully cover and protect the reel. I'm sure the cover will fit great on another reel and rod setup than it does on mine. Some protection is better than none, but the cover is well constructed with great stitching for the price and will protect the right gear setup.

This reel cover is being used for a new reel I recently purchased. It's fits an average size low profile baitcasting reel well and the Velcro is strong. The padding is thick neoprene and offers a good level of protection. Like that it can be used when the reel is attached to the rod. Solid product.

I ordered this for my Abu Garcia baitcaster in order to protect it when we are transporting our rods during fishing trips. For anyone who does go in-and-out of a boat when they go fishing, you'll know that your equipment tends to take a bit of a beating that can lead to nicks, scratches and corrosion. When you spend the better part of your paychecks on rods and reels, seeing them get beaten up after only a couple trips will make not only you cry, but also your wallet.All of this is to say that you need to put protective cases on your equipment - but not all of these are built the same. This reel protector seems to fit my baitcaster pretty well (I will upload a picture of it on it later). The neoprene-like material that is used is very thick, adding substantial cushion to the reel. It is a bit difficult to get it on the first time (since it isn't as intuitive as it looks), but I'd chock that up to "user-error". I haven't tested to what extent this cover is waterproof, but you can tell that it does at least have some resistive properties just by feeling it.From the perspective of quality, the material is thick and feels durable, the stitching doesn't appear to have any noticeable defects, and the velcro is much stronger that you'd think - which makes for a tight seal.When it comes to some of its more "intangible" aspects, I can say that I personally like the way it looks - at least in the blue colored variant that I ordered. The aquatic theme and premium feel make it a good pairing - again, at least in my humble opinion. The logo is also subtle and doesn't steal attention away from what would unquestionably be a more expensive combo.

I really like this protective cover and am currently using it on one of my mid-sized reels. The cover is a bit smaller than I expected but it fits well given that the neoprene material stretches quite nicely. The cover is shaped in a way that provides full coverage over the entire reel with the exception of the handle.The material that it's made of is rather thick and feels quite durable. The stitching and edge finishing is very well done and it looks great. This cover, partnered with a nice neoprene rod cover, will provide years of protection to my valuable equipment to and from the water.
