This expanded storage battery works excellent in my iPod 5 using a "thick" back side case. I lifted the headphone jack and click speaker up slightly for install (preference not required). The OEM battery for an ipod was something like 550mah, this expanded capacity battery basically lets you run your iPod forever or next to forever if it's running Rock Box.Notably: recent production product. This IS NOT an old LG phone battery, which some "replacement" iPod batteries are which is like putting another old one in. Not here, actual brand new battery. Ribbon cable is excellent.

I have been doing a decent amount of iPod modding as of late and figured this would be a great upgrade as its supposedly larger in capacity than most other upgraded batteries for 5/6/7th gen iPod classics. When I got this unit out of its packaging and held it up to a 3000mah pack from a reputable source this was notably smaller which leads me to believe that it is not 3600mah. It is quite thin and doesn't seem to match up with its advertised capacity, unfortunately I lack the tools to test its capacity but I would say that I am hesitant to believe what is advertised. That aside it does function as a battery upgrade and did increase the battery life over the stock 650mah battery but I would recommend picking up a pack from a reputable brand as this just seems a bit off.
