In a perfect world, this would be an easy swap out - swap in, plug and play install. Of course, this is not a perfect world.Long story short, the new fader harness end plugs into the mixer through a port, located next to the hardwired harness that feeds the older fader. Not sure why the pre-existing harness couldn't be utilized (manufacturing the new fader to receive it)...but that would be too easy (sarcasm).Given the narrow space and location of the port, I spent close to an hour connecting it (needed needle nose pliers to position the plug and a small screwdriver to push the plug up into the port).Ok...now I'm plugged in and ready to go. NOPE. As many mentioned here, a good number of these faders were factory wired incorrectly. Symptoms = fader doesn't work at all (bleeds) and heats up (pretty hot). The fix (found online) - this is a 3 wire harness. Take the 2 outer wires (either splice or pull their pins) and flip them around. I chose to splice them...didn't want to risk messing up the welds or plug. If splicing, do it carefully as the wires are thin gauged. Another thing, I did the splicing while the fader was still plugged into the mixer - which made it more difficult to splice, flip and tape. For me, I didn't want to endure another 30-40 minute exercise unplugging/plugging the fader back in. However, if you have smaller - thinner fingers and plugging in wasn't a problem for you, then its far easier to splice/flip the wires with the fader out in the open.Once done, the fader worked like a charm. To summarize:(i) Fader plug is a pain to pop in (at least for me) given the location of the port (right side on inner mixer board next to hardwired harness that plugs into older fader).(ii) Fader may be among the defective batch that needs to be rewired. From what I gather, many receive an incorrectly wired fader.(iii) Unless something else is wrong with the fader, the elbow grease (if needed) will have you up and running.Hope this helps!

The crossfader is awesome, very sharp, feels awesome. Adjustable friction is cool, guys the behringer easily just 4 screws, a bit of a pain to plug it in but doodle with patience and a thin flat screwdriver. Behringer sent out a large amount of these games wired backwards, If you browse the topic you'll see that they will repair them, but the wait can be extensive, I cut and resoldered the wires, no problems, can't see any arising. I didn't both contacting the manufacturer or behringer.
