Smoked for 55 years and used the best reliable lighter since the early seventies. BICs never let me down as I always carried two. They eventually ran out of fuel after about 3000 strikes and easy to use. Keeping them in your pocket eventually allows pocket lint to fall in the striker/nozzle area blocking or diverting the spark from the gas flow when lighting. So, you daily tap the lighter upside down and blow the lint out like blowing out a candle. Average life span about six months including cycles in the washer and dryer. Best lighter source for edc survival and camping. Many times I have pulled out of puddles and rain blow off water and it eventually lights when dry enough.
