Be careful, this will only work with GameCubes that have the digital output port model DOL-001. So, make sure your console is compatible. With retro gaming back on the rise, I wanted to start playing my GameCube again, but I wanted to see if I could use HDMI instead of the composite cables. I searched for a while, and other adaptors out there were pricey, and the same with mods. I saw this and wanted to give it a try. I am glad it did, as it allowed me to be able to use my retro console on modern TVs. Do have realistic expectations that this won't magically make things into native 1080p or 4k, but it does do a good job of making things look good on modern TVs. I would say if you are looking for absolute crisp video adaptors like this will not be able to do it, but this is good for folks who want a plug-and-play solution and use modern TVs.

Works without issue if you're running a stock gamecube. Has some caveats if you're using a picoboot hard modded gamecube wired to 3.3v. rail.Device takes excessive power draw at boot from 3.3v rail and will prevent the picoboot modchip from booting if wired on 3.3v rail. This should not affect Picoboot users wired to 5v rail. The adapter does work but I found I have to either boot the console with the adapter disconnected or my tv powered off and then power the tv on once the boot cycle completes to allow the modchip to properly function. If you power the console on with the tv powered on while the adapter is connected it will not boot the modchip bios and instead boot into the retail bios
