BMC Classic Marx Palm Trees & Jungle Ferns were advertised on Amazon. When I saw these palm trees I knew I needed several bags of those palm trees for two wargames that I added for my Wofford College LifeLong Learning. The first game that made very good use of the Palm Trees & Ferns is currently being taught for the Wofford College LifeLong Learning series for the Fall semester of 2020. This class is titled: AMERICAN REVOLUTION: The Southern Campaign, 1779-1781. The wargame class is taught at the American Legion Post #28 in Spartanburg, SC, near Duncan Park Baseball Field. The class is at the Legion so that I can leave my 12' x 6' tabletop wargames setup in the basement. The next wargame class that will make good use of the Palm Trees will be a tabletop on the "Vietnam War." This class "IA DRANG / FIREBASE GLORIA / RIVERINES" is scheduled for the Fall semester for Wofford College LifeLong Learning series. In these two wargame classes the BMC CLASSIC MARX PALM TREES & JUNGLE FERNS, of which I ordered a good number of bags, will be utilized on the two tabletop wargames.I started doing my tabletop wargames for my Tenth Grade European History classes at Spartanburg High School. That wargame was called "CIVILIZATION: CONQUEST OF THE EMPIRE." It was a 12' x 6' tabletop of the ancient Mediterranean region, circa Roman Empire. Observing my use of that tabletop for my 10th grade classes, Mr. Joe Clarke, Principal of SHS encouraged me to start teaching class his class called VIETNAM SEMINAR. This course, Mr. Clarke had taught for several years at SHS. So, when Mr. Clarke became principal he asked me to take the class. This I did, but I changed the format to cover warfare from the "French & Indian War through wars up to the Persian Gulf War in 1991."Mr. Clarke, was a Captain in the Army and had served in Vietnam and he was invited to make a presentation each semester to the Warfare Classes. I am a Navy veteran and Mr. Clarke knew that I had an interest in military history, so that is one of the reasons he asked me to teach the class with my wargames. Other military veterans were invited to make presentations to the class over the years. Some of the guests, coming from the WARBIRDS Association of Spartanburg were WWII aces General Joe Foss, General Francis "Gabby" Gabreski, General Robert Morgan who was the pilot of the B-17 "Memphis Belle" and Colonel Wayne Sholtes of the US Army who came several times to speak on tank warfare for my "Battle of the Bulge" wargame. Another guest speaker was LTJG Barry Hull of the U.S. Navy who flew an F/A-18 off the USS SARATOGA during the 1990-91 "Desert Shield / Desert Storm" war against Iraq. Commander Hull visited the SHS classes a number of times and was well received by the seniors as he related his stories about missions over Iraq during that war. Commander Hull has since retired from the Navy as a Commander and spoke at my Wofford LLL class in 2018 when the class was covering "Aerial Warfare: WWI to the Present." I taught this class for the last seventeen years at SHS before retiring in 2008. Oh yes, I took all my war toys with me, as I had bought these war toys over that seventeen year period. One of my former students told me about the LifeLong Learning classes at Wofford College and he felt that wargame class from SHS days would fit right in with the LLL classes started by Charlie Gray of Wofford College. Besides, Wofford College is my Alma Mata. When I first started my class at Wofford College, back in 2015, I was instructed to set it up, teach the class and the wargame, and then I had to take it down. Now, a 12' x 6' battle board with all the trees, fences, buildings, tanks, troops, bridges and land elevations for a large battle board was a bit much. Logistics was a bit much, so the commander of the Legion, of which I am a member, informed me that I could set my wargames up at the Legion. So, the wargames have been down there for the past four years. But, one can see that when I see an item that can be used in my wargame classes, I will purchase a number of them so that they help in adding visual effects to a 12' x 6' tabletop / diorama war game. The students over the years have noted the effort and time that one has put into these classes. They enjoy the classes and with that I am extremely thankful that so many students, years later, still talk about the warfare classes. So, the BMC CLASSIC MARX Palm Trees & Ferns will have a major impact on my wargames.
it. Is. fun.

These are great, there's a bunch of them, enough probably for a full Marx Battleground play set, and made from the original molds. Color is crisp, no flash...you will like....
