We needed a refractometer to try to measure coffee extraction for a 7th grade science fair. We wanted to compare a digital refractometer to the old school dehydrator method to see if they were consistent. In our experiment they were consistent. I am sure we could have gotten more precise and accurate results with a +$500 refractometer, but that was not in the science fair budget. The DiFluid Refractometer 32% was easy to setup and pair with an iPhone. The app had all the settings to measure for coffee extraction percentage as long as you gave it accurate data (grounds used, water used, resulting cup of coffee all measured in grams). Easy to calibrate with distilled water. After our first round of tests we noticed the extraction % would change as the coffee cooled. Also noticed the app would collect 1 sample with each button press. So we took multiple readings over 5 minutes and waited for it to stop changing with each new reading. After first round of tests we learned that you can ask the app to take 10 readings with each button press and spit out the average. This was very helpful! We still took a couple of measurements over 5 minutes, but I felt like this helped with accuracy.

This is pretty awesome. I found that there was more sugar in some of the drinks then I thought. A very good thing to know.

I bought this digital refractometer for my son's science project. It was so easy to use that it encouraged him to be interested researching further in Chemistry. It is accurate as long as you remember calibrating or zeroing on known liquid first. The digital readouts were very clear. I used it to measure the sugar content of solutions. Very practical and served its purpose.

I purchased the DiFluid Digital Brix Refractometer for a friend who recently had a stroke and is diabetic, and it has proven to be the perfect tool for ensuring that the sugar levels in their drinks are kept low. This device is incredibly precise, with a range of 0-32% Brix and an impressive ±0.1% precision. The 0.05% resolution allows for very detailed measurements, which is crucial for someone managing their sugar intake closely. The digital display is clear and easy to read, and the device is straightforward to use, even for someone who isn’t particularly tech-savvy. It’s a reliable way to monitor the sugar content in homemade beverages, ensuring that they stay within safe limits for my friend’s health. This refractometer has provided peace of mind and has been a vital tool in helping my friend manage their condition. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs to keep a close eye on sugar levels, whether for health reasons or just for more precise control over their recipes.

I bought this digital refractometer for a biology project. It was very easy to use. It is very small so it's portable and fits in your pocket. I bought it on sale and is very much worth the money. The screen is clear to read and the results seem to be accurate when compared to the expected results. I used it to measure the sugar content of bananas and it was perfect as I did not need to dilute the banana with water. Overall it was very practical and served its purpose.
