I personally didn’t notice a huge difference, but it did help with the shifter being a little loose, then again I did a short shifter at the same time. If you have your driveshaft and exhaust on it will be hard to install, I had to hammer mine to flatten in a bit to make it install, it doesn’t install easy

Getting it on is pretty hard as it doesn't compress very much at all (kinda the point). I had to use some serious plumber pliers to squeeze it hard while rotating it into place to get it on. Almost gave up and returned it, but so glad I didn't... it cleans up sooo much slop in the shift linkage it's pure magic! (now I just hope I never have to take it off)

This shift carrier bushing is very tight and sturdy. It was a pain to install. You need to put two hose clamps around it to get it to collapse enough to install. Poly bonding to the metal is really good and everything is very precision fit.

The product isn't what is pictured its a much more basic steel and yellow poly fill bushing. That's fine though, it installed with relative ease on a e39 540i, slipped on the shift arm no problem with a bit of grease. Those complaining that it doesnt install easy may just be struggling with the process. You insert one slot into the holder bolted to chassis and then use a long pry bar to push the bushing body up and 'roll' the other slot into place. Considering the cost of the oem part or other aftermarket options, this piece is an obvious win.

Does not fit e36 as it states it does, very disappointed should’ve gotten OEM instead
