Works just as good as the full size antenna, but definitely not as durable. I bought 3, gave 2 to my partners, and all 3 broke within 6 months.

I use it to replace the baton length antenna that came with the radio when my dept went to load bearing vest carriers with the radio holder built into the chest area....i became irritated by the thing going straight up my right nostril every time i sat down into my patrol unit and the vest rode up. This solved that problem....works as well as the original but we are in a good coverage area...not sure how it would work if you are serving in rural areas
