I am an electronics guy and DIYer. I love using and building low voltage devices. A lot of my 12v gadgets use a 5.5mm x 2.1mm barrel plug. This is not my first extension cable like this, but it is one of my favorites. It is thicker than my others but still more flexible and easy to work with. I use these cables in many different situations. My charge controller has a 12v barrel input and output. I can add this cable to extend my solar panel on the input or extend the device im powering on the output. I have lamps, speakers, radios, outdoor lights, power banks, heated clothing, fans, solar panels, battery chargers, laptops, TVs, etc. I have a ton of devices I can use this with. Many people have devices that this would work for. Especially electronics that came out before USB-C PD. Now, USB-C PD can support higher voltages like 12v and 20v. Before this technology, everything between 9v and 24v used barrel connectors. There are many different shapes and sizes. Although the 5.5mm x 2.1mm is a standard size that's widely still checked, your devices specs for the propper size are. The 5.5mm x 2.5mm barrel type plug can look almost identical to this one. I've seen people complain and leave bad reviews saying the plug didn't work. They said it was either too big or too loose. This is because they ordered the wrong size. Another thing to watch for is the maximum current. These cables are only 24awg. I probably wouldn't run more than 3 to 5 amps depending on the device im powering. Your device should state the amps on it. If not, you can divide the Watts ÷ Volts = Amps. To keep it simple, if you have a 120w device that takes 12v of power, it would draw 10a. Most small devices don't use many amps, but it's just something to take into consideration. This cable is thick, durable, flexible, and works with a wide variety of electronics.

This is a really nice cable. Soft, flexible, appears durable, and has metal connectors.
