I tried this on 2 different speakers with 4 different optical inputs. The cable was lit up, but no signal was transmitted. My old kludgy USB-C to optical worked.

Did what I was looking for. I can now play Apple Music from iPad mini, MacBook Air or iPhone 15 to my sound system via the Wiim Pro.

This cable connects my iPhone 15 pro max to my Chord Poly and Chord Hugo 2. It sounds phenomenal! Which is ironic cause this cable actually doesn’t transmit sound! It converts to he usb port into a Toslink port sending your digital signal using light. That light gets picked up by your DAC and is used to create the sound. The beauty of this cable is that the audio signal is immune to interference and RF noise.While any USB C to toslink adapter will do the exact same thing that this cable would, this cable packages it all up into a very elegant solution. I would gladly purchase this again! Very elegant solution to what otherwise would be a multitude of ugly cables.Update: 12/23/23. I guess my party was short lived. This cable has started intermittently failing. Today I found that simply touching the near the usb connector causes my audio to interrupt. I still think the concept is a great cable if you plan for a more permanent setup but if this is something you plan to unplug and replug (I.e a laptop or some other non stationary device) I can’t recommend this.
