Seems to be higher quality than the others and I like that it has a screw holding it together. Getting the factory fob shell apart to get the circuit board and key out was quite difficult because it was glued together.

I bought a pair of these for my parents 2015 Buick Lacrosse. The button covers had all torn out of theirs, but they otherwise were functional. The locksmith wanted $280 for a pair of new ones including key cutting and programming to the car! These were under $8 each and work perfectly! These shells require the removal and transfer of the old circuit boards (they just sit in the shells on a pair of tiny locator pins), and the old emergency key blades. Since you’re using the original guts, no programming or key cutting is required! The hardest part is being careful when disassembling the old FOBs so as not to damage the circuit board. The new FOB case just snaps/pulls apart, but the original one seems to be bonded along the seam between case halves. I found it best to score the side seam with a fresh utility knife before attempting to pry it apart to liberate the circuit board. Also, the original blade key was able to be transferred over, including the hub it pivots on. No need to separate the blade itself from the blade hub by driving out the tiny roll pin as many YouTube videos show!! Just move the original blade key over. I used the new release button and spring with the old blade key and it was 100% compatible with the new FOB housing. There are several YouTube videos showing how the old one comes apart. I’d suggest watching a couple of those and get a feel for where you should and shouldn’t stick a pry tool and also how to wind the blade spring during assembly, so it will flip out when you press the button. Finally, after the new case halves are snapped together, they come with a small screw to hold the halves together permanently. These new FOBs took about 40 minutes. My dad was very happy with the end result!

Great quality compared to other cheap knock-offs. Noticeably heavier and feels solid.Swapped the circuit board and key from the old Key Fob onto this one with no issues. Works perfectly.Highly recommended!

Thank you AMAZON! This saved me about $350. My wife's key had the rubber boots missing causing her to use a pen to lock and unlock the car. These are just the shells so you need to disassemble the original key to replace with the new shell. After watching a quick 4 minute video I had the guts from the old key into the new one. There was no programming involved or remake of a key. I will say that the hardest part was winding the key on the spring, I did 1 1/2 turns versus the recommended 2 but it works just as good. Best $8 spend this year!!

I needed more than the shell, so I ordered the complete fob
