Unless you have a humidifier that you can hit every nook and cranny of when you clean--something I haven't found in years--DO NOT BUY THIS! I don't know if it filtered anything, but I do know that it covered multiple humidifiers with black soot that I hope was just carbon dust. No instruction to rinse them ahead of time like an old brita filter, but even doing so, it still left huge amounts of black particulate matter through our humidifiers that was tough to get out. I was hoping to get an advantage in the never ending battle against growth in humidifiers and I just got more difficult cleaning work that could not be done completely.

Is orbs seem to be working. Before I added one to the water in my ionizing humidifier, there was white dust all over everything in my room (floor, nightstands, bureaus, etc. etc.)! I put one of the orbs into my humidifier, and I do not see any white dust at all in my room. I hope it continues to work for a few more weeks. It has only been in the humidifier for one week, so, so far so good!

I've been using this to demineralize tap water in my bedroom humidifier for a month, now, and have had no issues. I'm still using the original fish. It did not arrive in the packaging on display, and I have no instructions on how to use, when to change, etc.
