I installed this CM-3400XPIPS to remotely power my distribution amplifier. I paired it with a Rocketfish™ - 4 Output Coaxial Amplifier - Silver, Model:RF-G1179. I previously tested the amp with its own power supply to ensure it performed correctly, and it did. All channels were fine, but I didn’t like the power cord situation due to the location of the amp. Then, I purchased and added this power supply. Immediately Channel 20 (which broadcasts on RF channel 31 in Denver) would not come in. I unplugged the power supply, and without any power to the amp, channel 20 (RF 31) was fine. Repeated a few times to ensure it was the power supply. It was also killing the channel adjacent to RF 31, which was RF 32 (DTV channel 14 in Denver). RF channels 31 and 32 operate between 572 MHz and 584 MHz. I don’t have the equipment to tell you exactly why those channels got killed, and whether it bled over into adjacent channels but didn’t completely kill the signal. I don’t recommend this power supply for your remote amp unless you live in an area where there are no stations on RF 31/32. I do not know whether the situation would be improved if it were paired with a ChannelMaster brand of amp.

This product is excellent. It performs just as expected. My previous power inserter was small and inline. This one is definitely an improvement in design. It powered my already installed preamp on the antenna with no problems. Just to be clear...this is a power inserter, not an antenna amplifier.

Plugged this unit into the cable per the instructions and voila, the amp up on my external antenna was energized and we got all of our channels back and then some! Of course, YMMV.

I have a roof top antenna with which I used an RCA preamp that comes with a power inserter that is in the house and shares the same cable as the signal coming down. If you don't amplify the antenna signal, you may not get any stations. Well my system was losing channels and I wasn't sure of the cause. I took a chance and decided to get another power inserter. Now these are hard to find and they are usually bundled with the preamp on the roof. Fortunately I checked the specs of the RCA power inserter ( 12 volts) and the channel master not only had the same voltage but could deliver a much higher current. I connected the output to the TV and the input to the cable coming down from the antenna, both with coax cables. I went from 42 channels to 74! You can't do much better. For the price it was worth it rather than calling an antenna man at $200/hr. If you are going up to the roof by any chance, put an LTE /4G/5G filter in the loop. Some of these signals interfere with the antenna signal more now than before.

The good, it is easy to setup because you just plug it in an outlet and hook your input, output cables to it. It works great just like it supposed to for powering my RV antenna and the picture quality is great. The bad it plugs directly to the power outlet with no power cord to add flexibility for placing unit. You have to be extra careful to hook the proper input output cables to the unit because the hookups are the same screw type except for the color coding and labeling so if you're not paying attention you could hook it up all backwards. Lastly I don't know how weather resistant it is but it doesn't look like to me it would hold up well in the elements.
