Despite the product description and the fact that the battery physically fits, it does not want to play nice with my Roomba 770 and OEM charger. I’ve tried charging the battery multiple times, and every time it ultimately throws an error 5 for charge error. I tried two of these batteries thinking maybe the first was just a dud, but both did not work. I did notice that the voltage is 14.8V compared to the OEM 14.4 V, so maybe that’s the issue? I had high hopes with this battery due to the large storage capacity, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be.

We have a Roomba Model 655. It's old. It sits in a corner of the laundry room - sometimes forgotten for months. From time to time, my wife will remember that it's there and put it to work. It's noisy and slow, but it does a good job sucking up the little bits of outside that get dragged in on the Yorkie's coat. Last time we tried it, it made the unhappy robot sound when we pushed the go button. It ran for about six inches and made that same sound again. Sorta like an R2D2 on a bad day..Over the years, we've had to transplant a couple ebay parts into this thing to keep it running, but when you think about it, we've had this little guy longer than we've had our cars. Everything needs maintenance sometimes. So, I order this battery. This is the third one - we replaced the original years ago, Checking out the specs - this one has 14.8v vs 14.4v (not a significant difference) and 6700 mAh vs 3800 mAh. Whaaaat? The new battery has twice the capacity as the old one? Isn't technology wonderful? Now, in a perfect world, I would run this robot vac on each of these batteries, fully charged, to see if the second really lasts twice as long as the first. Can't do that, though. The old battery is good for a six-inch run, lasting maybe 2 seconds. It's toast. Let's get to work..I removed the dirt holder before I started just because it would be in the way. There's one Philips screw that holds on the rotating brush - it has to go. Then there are four screws - they're easy to spot. They're also captured by the cover so that they can't get lost (nice touch, IRobot). Once inside, the old battery is right there, staring you in the face. It has tabs on the side to help with removal and just lifts out. While out, I examined the battery compartment and the spring-loaded contacts for cleanliness. Looks good. I unwrap the new battery, which was double wrapped in bubble wrap - once outside and another inside the cardboard box. A printed Battery Manual is included, with safety tips and rudimentary information. I had to find my glasses to read it, but there wasn't anything there that a handy person wouldn't already know..So to the installation.... IRobot's design is such that it would be virtually impossible to install this wrong. If it doesn't fit, turn it around. There's a bump on the battery that fits into a slot on the robot vac. As soon as I pushed it down, the robot vac made the happy robot sound. Haven't heard that in a while - it's a good sign. While this was apart, I cleaned that white part of the nose wheel - I'm not sure what it does, but there must be a sensor that looks at it to determine the difference between the white and black, and there really wasn't any. It's clean and white now. Four screws attach the cover and I found a new rotating brush in the parts box to replace the ugly one..I set the happy robot vac on the floor of the laundry room and pushed the DOCK button, effectively telling it to go home. It did so, happily. It is now charging and as far as I can tell, this is a confirmed repair. It lives again.

This does not work for 675 the description says yes but the roomba675 will not charge it
