This is the perfect windbreaker. I can quickly throw it on when it rains or on windy days...and it also provides sun protection. It has ventilated panels that allow air to flow through. It's very light - not stuffy or hot to wear...it's super comfortable. It runs true to size and the fit is spot on. The colors (white/black/grey) are neutral and go well together, they also match with everything. The fabric is super high quality. It lives up to the Columbia name. It's durable, easy to keep clean and easy care as well. I also wanted to mention that there's an attached hood and pockets on both sides.

Fits well and I love the colorway (Canoe/Dark Stone/Safari). I ordered a size Large which is what I usually order for jackets and there was no issues with this one. It has sun protection and back venting to make sure you're not sweaty up in there lolGreat for windy transitioning Spring weather here in California. I highly recommend.

Not just for teens!I was going to complain about the price, but the quality hold up. Columbia used fine material and pieced it together just right. The size is spot-on, and the garment feels great on, light and protective. They have an assortment of colors that is varied and attractive. I love the Ocean Blue.California weather this time of the year can be a bit chilly, wind factor and light rain included. This hooded windbreaker is perfect for the season, and for taking to the beach for when the sun goes down. It is lightweight and easy to pack into a beach bag or larger luggage for travel.Some designers put out cheap crap with a high price tag, some are fair value, and some put up a high tag and stick to their standards. Columbia is a win-win.

The windbreaker does a great job of blocking wind, and it’s easy to layer over a t-shirt or hoodie. TLDR: Top favorite features –1) Multipurpose and multi-season wearability thanks to the design details and Omni-Shade+Omni-Shield fabric2) Less than 10.5oz and easily packs into a 6"×8"×1" pouch3) Colors & comfortI'm happy with everything about this Columbia Spire Valley Windbreaker! Probably the best part (along with the Omni-Shade + Omni-Shield fabric) — it only weighs about 10-10.5oz (my measurement, Columbia doesn't provide the weight,) and is easily packed down to fit in a 6"×8"×1" zipper pouch. By squeezing out more air, it should fit into an even smaller bag, but I only had this size available.I chose the (true to the photos) Canoe/Dark Stone/Safari colorway. The pretty, slightly muted colors are neutral enough to pair well with any color clothing (um. maybe not some bright hot pinks, but I haven't tried it.)I probably should have gotten a Large instead of XL (my normal size,) but with raglan sleeves instead of a shoulder to drop down and be a give-away the windbreaker is too big, I decided to keep the XL for more layering opportunities. BTW, the raglan sleeves allow for great upper body mobility.I have a number of pants and tops from Columbia. The build quality of the Spire Valley Windbreaker met my expectations for the brand, including YKK zippers, details like an inside neckline hanging loop, and stitching that is straight, neat, evenly spaced and free of loose threads.I'm a fan of Columbia's Omni-Shade + Omni-Shield fabrics, not just for their UPF50 protection and breathable water & stain repellency, but also for being wash and wear with minimal wrinkling, holding up well with repeated washing and creating decently wrinkle resistant, packable clothing for travel that dries overnight after a wash.Being in California, the Spire Valley Windbreaker will get year-round wear (daytime in winter.) It kept me warm in the low 50°s F with a chilly light breeze. It kept my head and torso dry in a light rain and saved me from being thoroughly soaked in a downpour. The large back vent makes it wearable for sun protection in the summer without overheating (my favorite summer travel shirts are the ones from Columbia with venting.)My only negative would be the somewhat inconsistent sizing of Columbia clothing these days. I found the XL to be oversized, but I see another reviewer thought the XL was small. YMMV.
