I used to be an audiophile, but the advent of on-line music services like Youtube and Amazon music, as well as many others has made me realize that realistically, the only top end audio gear you need is a really good receiver and a great set of speakers. Switching over to these "RCA" type plugs to replace my "banana' type plug ins was necessary because most of the good receivers are now using the RCA plug ins. These plugs are pretty nice. They're well made and using them is very easy, unlike many of the large Banana clips that never seem to carry the signal properly. They come in two different colors, so choosing the right wires to connect positive and the negative is really easy. I like the way the speaker cable is connected to the plug, and it is pretty hard to make the mistake of reversing the polarity. Nice product, nice quality. You won't go broke buying them and I cannot detect a difference in sound quality compared to the banana type of plug. I'd buy them again.

they worked and I didn't want to spend more money. I've probably made hundreds of cables for my audio addiction over the years. I miss when I could just pop over to the local Radio Shack when I needed something in a pinch. These are junk. the threads are really course and loose. I had to use blue loc-tite to keep the shells on. Compare them to the Monster Brand on the right. Huge diff in machining and size. I had to drill out the inside diameter on my drill press to allow the cables to fit. The metal clamp/strain relief wouldn't come close to fitting around the cable I used. And the screw might have worked but I solder everything. These can't be solderless and work correctly if you can't secure the ground. That has to be soldered regardless- which is always the more difficult commection when the cables have a braided sheild. These weren't any more difficult than most rca connectors. Process was the same. But they are poor quality. I would probably buy them again for a quick and dirty project. The metal sleeve was some kind of silver metal. It machined like steel. On better connectors it's usually brass. This makes me a little concerned about what the center pin is made of. I'm not going to pull one apart to find out. On a positive note, the plastic insulation for the center pin didn't melt what I soldered the wire. Purchase with caveats knowing you get what you pay for.

Very nice and attractive connectors, gold plated and easy to put on. There is a set screw on the positive pin, but I recommend removing that and use the hole as a soldering point, provided you tin the center conductor first. You can use them without soldering, but I do not recommend it.The inclusion of some rubber strain reliefs would be a nice addition for a couple dollars more for use with finer leads, but unnecessary in the practical. Just more of an aesthetic, really.
