It's ok for my application but if you apply a bit too much force/ pressure it starts to bend and or cave in, its pretty thin metal.If you're careful during the installation process and don't expose it to bumps things hitting it, it should last.

Nothing wrong with this product at all. Well made secure BUT... the in flow pipe was just ever so slightly to big. Would not fit inside a 6" extraction fan. Really sorry it didn't work was really looking forward to having it. Definitely the best looking of what I looked at.if the inflow size works for you this is a great init.

After contemplating which vent cap to buy, I stumbled on this one. It is perfect. We have a long (20 ft) dryer vent pipe running from our laundry room, under the house and out to the side yard. The rains in California have been tough in the past two years and rain water got into the pipe that only had a thick drain screen covering it. Well, our Maytag dryer warned that the "Air Flow" was bad and shuts off every time we try to dry our clothes. I used a 20ft vent brush cleaner and pulled out a decent hill of lint but still got the "AF" signal. I used the vent brush again and this time I pulled out soaking wet lint that, if dry, would've been HUGE. Rain water had gotten into the vent pipe and built a soaking wet hill of lint, blocking air flow. Cleaned that out and now went looking for a good vent cap. After considering plenty candidates, this metal one did the trick! Fit perfectly and the "teeth" hooked into the inside of the vent pipe so no sealant necessary which makes access easy in order to clean. Very efficient, our dryer is happy, we're happy, and it looks GREAT. NO MORE rain seeping into the underground dryer vent pipe for us!
