The scoop works very well, but I just wish that there was a button to control when the scoop heats up/shuts off. The way it works is that you grip the handle and it automatically switches on, which can be a bit odd when you clean it and want to put it away. Nonetheless, it doesn't get too terribly hot so I don't see this being much of an issue.Battery life has been pretty great. I've charged it once and have been using it every other day without issues. It has 70% remaining and is still going strong.The usage of the scoop itself is pretty good. For super frozen ice cream, it does take a few tries, but still makes quick work of it compared to normal scoops that become frozen after the first scoop. No more having to run the scoop under hot water when you want ice cream immediately. This is definitely a keeper and major convenience upgrade over regular scoops.

Gets hot right away but as soon as you scoop the second time the ice cream cools it off and it won't reheat right away.

🤩 WOW 🤩 What a cool ice cream scoop! It really is magical. My daughter has gross motor delays but is getting more independent. I thought this heated ice cream scoop would help her get her favorite dessert treat a bit more easily…and it WORKS! She just holds the handle and you can see the temp warming up. It allows her to confidently cut through the ice cream to get out her scoops. The handle length is appropriate for ease of use and seems very durable.The battery is rechargeable and comes with a cord. I do have to monitor the battery life (indicated on the end of the scooper) and plug in occasionally. I would say that the battery doesn’t last very long.I hand wash gently and let dry. It’s easy to clean. I have seen no evidence of a rust issue.What an awesome idea!! It’s a great gift too!

The heater on this ice cream scoop really works. Once it's heated it cuts right through hard ice cream. However, if you lay it down for just a few seconds it goes off so when you pick it up again, it's gone cold and you have to wait for it to heat up again. This has a feature where it automatically comes on as soon as you pick it up and goes off shortly after you set it down (there's no switch) -- that's a clever design, but I actually wish it had a regular on/off switch to give greater control of when it is on and off. It takes about 45 seconds to heat up which is fine, but you need to be holding it the whole time. It's inconvenient to hold it with one hand while you are getting out the tub of ice cream, the ice cream bowels, etc. using the other hand. If you set it back down during prep, it goes off very in a few seconds and then you need to restart the heating process by holding it. Conclusion: The heater works great and really helps with dishing up hard ice cream, but I hope future models will feature a more convenient, regular on/off switch.
