These are really large scoops. Works perfectly for dog food (large breed dogs) and I use one for cat litter. I use a corn litter than is like sand. Works great to add more between changes.Great find!

I don't know what I was thinking when I read 64oz...these are HUGE! You'll definitely be able to scoop a lot of ice with this. It will also work well for lightweight stuff like bedding and feed for small animals. The handles aren't the most ergonomically helpful though there are slight indentations for your fingers, it is a bit big for my (small) hands. It's sturdy and looks like it'll last.

Full disclosure: I didn't order this scoop for ice. I ordered it for cat food. I fully expected it to be a thin, bendy plastic with rough edges, and I was at peace with that. The scoops are plastic, indeed, but they are not at all thin, and the edges are all nicely rounded. The weight of the scoop is very satisfying -- it feels like it can do the job, whatever the job may be, and it feels balanced in use. I already knew it would be quite large: the dimensions match those in the product description. It fits the top of our cat feeder just right, as though it were made for it, and makes refilling the feeders so much easier.I was going to stash the second one to use when this one broke, but now that I see that it isn't going to break, I'm going to use the other scoop for moving potting soil and compost between containers in the garden. A shovel is too big, and a trowel is too small. This scoop will be perfect. And I'm sure it will move a LOT of ice.

These are strong but wouldn’t hold up scooping ice on an every day basis. I worked in a restaurant and so I’m just being honest. However, for under 20 dollars for 2 of these XL scoops that are strong enough for my soil mixing and scooping, I HIGHLY recommend them! I had been looking for a scoop like this for awhile and these do just what I wanted them to do. I must mix together perlite with potting soil for thousands of plants. Yes, what I have is considered a plant nursery so transplanting is a weekly thing that I must do. I took these photos at my first try with them because I didn’t want them to look too dirty and used for the photos!😂 Otherwise, people might think that’s how they look when you receive them which would not be good!🤣 But they have held up well for the 2 weeks since I started using them and I expect them to last a long time. I am exceptionally rough on tools my husband tells me all the time!😂 But hey! I get things done!🎉 That said, with my rough, heavy usage, I expect these to last a year or maybe 2 before the handles break. Like I said, these are not commercial grade.I hope actually showing the scoop in use and the details in this review give you a better idea of the product and if it will fit your needs.

To give a little background on my evaluation criteria, my first career was in the restaurant business. I've worked the gamut of roles from utility through all front of house and back of house positions including management. The main restaurant would serve 600+ meals a night in peak periods. The kitchen is a battle zone. Your gear better be built tough because that's how it's going to be handled, day in and day out. This is a perfectly functional scoop for ice, flour or other volume stocked dry goods in a lower use environment. It is not what I would consider restaurant grade for any but the slower locations. It's perfectly fine for home use where it might get as much use in a month as it would in a day at a food service facility.I actually got these to use as scoops for potting soils and soil amendments. They are a lot easier to use than the aluminum (and restaurant grade) 4 Qt Dry Measure "cups" - that I previously used and that will last forever but are awkward to use in large bags of potting soil. One star ding for the "commercial" grade claim. Sure you could, but it would be a poor long term purchase decision, unless you are a low volume place.
