Edit: I did get a hold of the seller after them questioning me on whether I set it up properly to try and get out of replacing the compressor. They did eventually send me a new compressor for free it did show up however the box was damaged. Seeing as I'm not made of money I have no idea if it will work or not until I get the money after filling the other compressor with 250 dollars of refrigerant. Though they semi rectified the situation I still would not recommend this product unless you know how HVAC systems work and have the money for it. This is not a cheap and easy diy project especially if you live in a van or RV full time. Like I say at the end if you're poor and trying to stay cool while you save money from having to pay rent just don't be poor and you'll be fine. This system is great if you have enough money to burn 3 grand into making sure it's all done properly. If you came here trying to stay cool your only other option is to spend loads of money. DO NOT TRUST THIS CHEAP CRAP!!!! my dad is an electrical engineer and helped me wire this up and install it. Compressor died within 24 hours of charging it with 600grams of freeon. (per instructions) We had the correct everything, so for the compressor to just die has to be a manufacturing error. They will not refund you and they planned this obsolescence to sell you just the compressor for nearly as much as the entire unit. (500 bucks) I live in a 92 Chevy Astro in the middle of Arizona and just wanted to keep my service dog cool because my regular AC went out and they wanted more than the cost of this and some batteries to fix it. Should've just fixed it now I'm down 1100 bucks and no AC. No point in trying to contact seller, they don't even speak English so theres no way to even reason with them. Just trust me save your self the trouble and just go with something else. Honestly I would recommend a regular window ac unit an inverter and a few batteries and solar with an isolator kit. Just don't be poor and disabled and you won't have problems like mine.

Very pleased with this unit so far!!!First the cons... Installing this was a little harder than it needed to be given how the wiring was set up from the factory so it would not fit in the supplied gasket, why put the cable sleeves on if you have to take the sleeves off to pull the cables through the gasket! I had to snip a few wires and add my own ring connectors to them to use the gasket and set things up to my satisfaction. On first start up there was a connector that wasn't connecting right, but at least it gave an error code that allowed me to quickly debug this and fiddle with the connectors a little bit and get it working. (The condenser fan cable connector, double check that!!) I have never done more than top off my refrigerant in a car AC system, but the quotes I was getting from local mechanics that do AC work to fill this unit with R134A were ludicrous, criminal. So, I ended up barrowing a pump and gauges from an auto parts store, for free, but with a rather huge deposit of almost $500. But it wasn't all that hard (I did watch MANY videos on vacuuming and filling R134 systems first!), and it worked great and blew cold after just that one connector debugging issue. I wish the instructions where more clear and complete. I would feel better if Treeligo had more of a US operation for support, replacement parts and the like, but then again, it might cost a lot more if they did spend the money to do that? There's no way to set the temperature to Fahrenheit as best as I can tell, thankfully I'm reasonably familiar with Celsius from years in Canada, New Zealand and Australia. OK, that may have been long, but it's a very complete cons list! Overall, I'm a eager DIYer and while not something I'd recommend a clueless newbie try installing themselves, it wasn't all that hard and I took more time to do it the way I felt was best. There's been no real concerns related to it's performance or operations! The Pros!!!! I am impressed and optimistic with the performance I've seen so far!!!!! I've ran this thing for 3 days straight, mostly with my Sprinter outside in 95 degree, very humid South Eastern US heat and it's very promising!! I haven't insulated the van yet, it's bare steel walls, so there's been times peak heat of the day when it was a good bit warmer than the set temperature, but it's still always felt a lot cooler and more comfortable in the van than outside it! And outside of peak heat of the day it's kept the van at or below the set temperature, which as generally been 20C/68F!!! Not bad at all! Granted it has been under a car port, so not in much direct sun, but I'm still hopeful it will work great even if in direct summer sun once I've properly insulated the can and have paneling in for the walls and ceiling. I'll try to update this review with more real world experiences traveling in the completed camper conversion! From the times I've run it from batteries only so far and given the very hot and humid conditions, I'm very optimistic! I don't have accurate battery bank monitoring set up yet, but I ran the AC on high for over 4 hours and my 400ah lithium battery bank seemed at least still half full??!!! I was happy with that. But I doubled to 800ah just in case! It's not silent by any means, but it's not loud enough to bother me in or out of the van! I should be able to sleep with my head up by the inside unit. And I don't think it would ever bother anyone camping near me, it's definitely not obnoxiously loud as air conditioner go!Real world performance in a fully finished camper, and long term reliability are yet to be determined, but if you want to add 12V DC air conditioning to a small to moderate sized RV, I don't think you'll do much better than one of these Chinese mini split units without spending 3 or 4 times as much on something like a Dometic! Treeligo seems one of the better manufacturers/resellers, but do understand you are dealing with a Chinese company with minimal US presence, few to no US employees. This unit arrived promptly, but it did ship some China I believe. Lord knows what your experience would be if you needed to do a return or have replacement parts shipped. But I feel you'll get a better experience with Treeligo via Amazon than taking a risk with similar units on eBay even if those may be cheaper. This shipped fast and was low risk given Amazon's policies. Mounting this on the back of my camper was pretty darn easy compared to doing a roof top AC install and I've left my roof clear for more solar panels once I get around to installing those! I have no regrets at all so I didn't spend $2500 on a Dometic roof top unit!Don't hesitate to give one of these a try if you are a decent DIYer, or have a good trusted RV service guy and can't spend $2000-$3000 on a big brand roof top native 12V DC AC!

This unit uses r134a refrigerant. It comes pre lubricated. You should be comfortable with evacuating and recharging vehicle air consitioners or have your mechanic charge it for you. You'll need 4 gauge cable or higher to run it depending on distance from the battery terminal. Installed in my Ford Transit 250 med roof, 148" wheelbase. I removed the spare tire and put an aluminum frame in to hold the unit in place. It's wired to my 12v house batteries and draws around 40 amps at full load, 70+ amps at startup. Love it so far, I'll post a longer review for reliability in a year or so.

E bought this for our van /camper. After finally learning how to use it and keep it running all night by solar it works great. The only bad part is there are no instructions. It’s trial and error. I would not leave my dogs in the van because I do not trust it to keep running that’s the only bad part.
