Update: The machine is fine. My challenge with aluminum was my flow meter. It overstated the argon flow. I used a cheap meter at the torch and after adjusting the valve, I was actually stacking even dimes that are shined with even HAZ. Nice unit..Full function machine in a small package at a good price. Very poor and limited manual. Consumables are low quality and the # 5 cup was threaded so it couldn’t make a tight connection. Annoying but ok at this price. I set everything up and tried to strike an arc. No luck with the foot pedal. I took the foot pedal apart and tested the potentiometer and switch which were good then the leads for continuity. I found the main cable was very loosely connected. The cable was clearly wired by someone without electrical knowledge.I have been practicing on aluminum and it’s not going well. It’s surely my lack of skill as the machine does strike and arc and is responsive to the settings. In all it seems to do what it is supposed to do. If I remember, I’ll update the feedback once I figure out how to actually use it properly.

Welder is very quite. Fan will only come on if it gets hot. Kind of nice. Welder has to learn the footpedal mode. Which is a minor nuance. The cables connectors are a bit close together so you might need to add a small pigtail if you have a different torch as I did, but minor cost. No Tech support based on limited interaction.

Well let me start off with I got this welder for $100 off coupon so its cost was $299. And like the other person it is missing items. Mainly the 120v to 240v adapter. So I hope that is the only issue with it. Also there is no instructions with the unit, so you have to know what all of the functions are and how to operate it. As soon as I can power it up I'll post a updateUPDATE There is NO SERVICE OR SUPPORT to speak of!!!!! It might be a low price but it is JUNK if there is something wrong!! DO NOT BUY AT ANY COST!!!

Bought it on special for 299. It was missing the 110 adaptor so I ordered one, for 30$ plug it in and no display operation so I took the front cover off and noticed it was unplugged. Plug it in and get it back together and no tig torch so ordered that get the gas going boom she’s welding. Looks good working great and then I get over temp error look in the back and the fan is broken so that’s it I’m getting a replacement, no big deal so if I don’t add more to this review then replacement works good

Ok. So you have two choices in the world of TIG welders. You can spend $2-$4k on a USA brand welder from Miller or Lincoln or you can spend $550-900 on a Chinese AC/D TIG welder. Are the Millers and Lincoln’s really made in the USA? Probably not, they may be designed and engineered in the USA but more than likely they are made overseas. One thing to keep in mind is if a board goes out on these welders it will probably be easier to find a Miller or Lincoln board than a Chinese welder board. I found that out with AHP, they walk away from their welders after 8 years, no parts no nothing. They call them obsolete and expect you to eat the welder if a board goes out.Getting back to this welder here is what I’ve learned in my 1 hour of use so far. The bad —-> The packaging that the welder is shipped in is less than great. There are two foam pads that protect the welder during shipping, that is it. Everything else is tucked into the box. The box arrived in less than stellar shape. It doesn’t give me confidence when something delicate is shipped with very little padding. Rocking the welder back and forth you can hear something move inside it. I tried to figure out what was making the noise but came to the conclusion that it is supposed to sound like that and it probably isn’t broken. The second problem I came upon is the foot pedal. The foot pedal you receive will go down in history as the worlds worst TIG welding foot pedal. Everything about it is horrible. For one thing it has a 66” cord on it which is way to short. It should be 120” the other thing is it just feels wrong. It feels chinsy and I couldn’t get variable amperage using it. Meaning I couldn’t let off the pedal and get less power and couldn’t press down and get more amperage. They put the cable coming out of it on the wrong side, it’s under your heel, it should have come out on the far side. Throw it in the trash. That being said the ground cable is nice….. it is 1/2” thick and is an ok length. The WP26 torch is also ok length. One thing to note is that they do not throw in a tungsten for you to use. It came with a 5/32 collet and 5/32 torch part…. Seems strange…. The most common TIG tungsten is 3/32. Luckily I had the necessary collets and parts to roll 3/32.It welds good. The menu system is fairly straightforward. It comes with a 2 year warranty per the manual. Buy it with a major credit card and you will get double the 2 year warranty. The manual is ok…. It could have been better. They send you a gas hose but no regulator…. Which doesn’t make sense. The stick stinger cable is good size, it is made with the same 1/2” ground cable wire. The 220v power cable is composed of 14 gauge wire which seems a tad small…. But hey what do I know. It comes with a 110v to 220v adapter cable composed of 14 gauge wire. All in all it’s a a decent welder, I ran steel and aluminum beads no problem. Hope it lasts…. Hope customer service is out there somewhere should I need them. I wouldn’t have bought it if it didn’t have the $170 coupon bringing it down to $550.
