Got a set of these to replace some NiMH AAAs that were used in a personal massager. The batteries had reached the end of their life and wouldn't really hold a charge anymore. These are a marked improvement. With NiMH, they operate at 1.2V nominal, and the voltage slowly drops as they discharge so you could tell when they are getting low as the massager would go slower and slower. Alkalines are 1.5V but drop in the same way. These operate at 1.5V constantly until they are completely discharged, so there is no noticeable drop in speed/performance compared to other AAAs until they die. Also, since they are a newer technology for rechargeables, having the USB port on the side and cable hopefully prevents anyone from trying to put them on an older battery charger, although you take a hit in capacity to make room for the USB port. Will definitely be replacing my older rechargeables with these as they reach the end of their lives.

Most aaa battery capacities are rated in mah (milli-amp hours.) This listing tricked me. Shame on me for not analyzing it more carefully, so let me share my lesson-learned with you guys. They state 1,200 mWh. I thought that this was 1,200 mah. mWh= Milli-watt hours. mah= Milli-amp hours.Since Watts= Voltage x Current; the 1200mWh= 1.5 Volts x the Mah; which using a little basic algebra is 800mah.Don't fall for the same trick that I did. 1200 mah are long lasting aaa batteries. 800 mah, well, not so much. Apart from this confusing (at best) and misleading (at worst) listing verbiage, the batteries seem to be working well.Once again, when you are comparing capacities; watch out for the mWh versus Mah issue that I describe above.

I LOVE these batteries! I also love the idea of rechargeable batteries that don't need a bulky/proprietary charger. Great for travel or emergencies, as they can be charged from basically anything with a USB port; car, laptop, USB power bank, USB solar panel, etc. The first batteries of this type I bought were micro-usb, which while functional, were not my favorite (I've had too many devices "bricked" by worn-out/broken micro-USB ports). I did like that the micro-USB ones came with a 4-way splitter for charging, and was originally annoyed that these (and seemingly all other) USB-C ones were only offered with a pair of 2-way splitters. Then I put 2 and 2 and 2 together, so to speak. I realized that mostly what I used these batteries for was TV remotes, and most remotes take two batteries, and that most modern TV's have a USB port in back that sits empty. Now, I have a pair of these batteries plugged into the back of each of my TV's, and I always have spare batteries for my remotes...right where I need them! No more cluttered drawers, or bulky chargers using up counter space and AC outlets.I haven't done back-to-back tests with other AAA batteries, rechargeable or otherwise, but they seem to last about as long as my previous batteries did. If they are "shorter-lived" it's not by much and barely noticeable. Plus, the convenience of charging these right where I need them totally outweighs any slight inconvenience from more frequent replacement. That said, there are probably applications/locations where conventional batteries would be preferable (like the wall clock at my parents' house that requires perching a ladder on stairs to access). For TV remotes, though, these can't be beat!
